Chapter 97
As the phone was slammed onto the table, it shattered into pieces.
Henry stood with his hands on his hips, his chest heaving in anger.
If it weren’t for that rebellious daughter of his, he wouldn’t have to endure such humiliation and be treated like a subordinate
What was so bad about going on a simple blind date?
The entire Lloyd family would be hers in the future–what more could she possibly want?
The atmosphere in the house was stifling. Seline cowered in the comer of the couch, too scared to move under Henry’s furious glare.
She glanced at Mandy, silently pleading for her to intervene.
Mandy gently patted Seline’s arm as if to comfort her. Then she stepped forward and looked at Henry with a gentle expression “Honey, you should calm down.”
It would have been better if she hadn’t spoken. The moment she did, Henry’s rage boiled over.
Henry slammed his hands onto the table several times in quick succession, the loud noise making Seline flinch even more
Henry roared, “Think of a solution right now! They’re expecting her in a week!”
As Mandy went over to take Henry’s arm, she coaxed in a deliberately soothing voice, “Il Suzanne really doesn’t want to, maybe we should just let it go.
She was intentionally tanning the flames, knowing it would only provoke Henry further.
Speaking of which, she was distantly related to Frankie–though the connection was extremely tenuous. Back then, it was through her efforts that they established ties with him.
Seline immediately understood Mandy’s intentions. She moved a bit closer and chimed in with a sweet tone, “That’s right, Ded. Since Suzanne was recently spotted dancing in a bar, maybe she hasn’t had her fill of playing around yet.”
Seline had overheard their conversation, so she knew Franide was aware of the incident.
Since that was the case, there was nothing wrong with her saying this, right?
Asly smalle flickered across Seline’s face.
Herry glared at Mandy coldly and barked, “If Suzanne doesn’t go, get ready to send Seline Instead!TM
That plot of land was non–negotiable–he had to secure it!
Mandy and Seline both paled in shock. Neither of them had expected Henry to make such a declaration.
Terror filled Seline’s eyes as she frantically shook her head at Mandy
Her words were a velled reminder to Henry that if he were to use Seline, they would lose the powerful backing of the Lumbert family.
Still, his frustration simmered, and his dissatisfaction extended even to Mandy since she couldn’t even come up with a solution. What a useless person!
