She could not understand why Colin thought that she was playing hard-to-get. As far as she was concerned, she was maintaining proper distance from a man who had a fiancee.

Sophia nervously looked at him. "Colin, please don't! I'm not prepared to..., " she pleaded.

"I am." He interrupted her mid-sentence and pressed his lips to hers.

Sophia was totally lost by now. She really was not ready for this. She was sure that Colin wouldn't want to see her again after the previous unpleasant encounter.

Sophia stopped his wandering hands. "At least, use a condom, " she said.

"I never use that stuff, " retorted Colin, freeing his hands from hers. 'And you cannot take contraceptives, ' he added in his mind.

Sophia knew that Colin would never be hers the moment they signed the divorce paper. But, even after all this time, she still felt heartbroken. "You must use it because I don't want to get syphilis from you, " insisted Sophia, stopping his hands again.

Colin felt her becoming unresponsive. This pissed him off to no end. "Who are you going to open your legs for then, huh?" he snarled.

"Pat!" Sophia could not control herself. She slapped him hard across his face with tears in her eyes. She could tell that Colin was furious.

Sophia realized that Colin was the same as he was three years ago. He still did not trust her. She pushed him away. "Since you think that I am that kind of woman, what the hell are you here for! Or do you really want a woman so much that it does not matter who I am?" she shouted.

"Shit! I shouldn't have come!" snapped Colin. He could not believe that Sophia had just slapped him. He kicked the sofa to let out his anger. Sophia was shocked by his behavior.

After this outburst, Colin started scratching his head. He was trying to relieve his anger. Actually, he was mad at himself. He knew that nothing would happen between Sophia and Hugh, yet he couldn't help coming here.

Besides, he had made several reasonable excuses for coming here before he got off work.

"Then get out of here! No one had invited you, " Sophia said in a choked voice. Colin's words had angered and saddened her. She was shaking.
