Dreckos as planned went to their wedding reception area. She saw Madelie already sitting in the middle where the special table and chairs for the groom and bride were arranged strategically. He approached Madelie and sat beside her.
“Madelie, the King and Queen, and the whole family are in trouble. Just cooperate as I do our plan to capture the mastermind,” Dreckos whispered to Madelie, whose eyes grew big. She automatically put her hand on her mouth to avoid from gasping.
“Stay calm and relax Sweetheart, everything is going to be alright,” Dreckos whispered again and kissed her cheek lightly. Madelie nodded and tried to smile.
“Time to start our plan,” Dreckos murmured as he stood up and got the microphone.
“Ladies and gentlemen, our apologies for the delays in our ceremony; however, the King and Queen including their children are not yet around. I considered them as the closest ones in my heart, so I cannot start this celebration without them. Please anyone who could tell me if you have seen them already?” Dreckos announced in accordance with their plot.
Everyone in the reception looked at each other somewhat surprised. “So where is King Timodore and his family?” almost everyone asked in unison.
“Anyone who saw them arrived in the hotel?” Dreckos asked again but none seemed to know.
Then Dreckos saw Toremo from afar sitting in one of the guest chairs.
“Toremo, have you seen them?” He called on the attention of Toremo, who was startled when he heard his name being mentioned by Dreckos.
Abruptly Toremo stood up almost speechless. What will he say? He saw Quacey’s ghost? He shook his head and acted as if so worried. “Dreckos, I have been looking for them also since I arrived here a while ago… but I was not able to see them.”
Dreckos from afar stared at Toremo with his squinting eyes. “Toremo, as far as I know, you were assigned to convoy or follow them for protection. How come you arrived here first?” he asked with a tone, intriguing all the guests present.
Toremo was somehow shaken by Dreckos’ statement but wicked as he could be, he knows how to evade questions like these. “Dreckos their driver seemed to have driven so fast that I lost trail of them. So, I just thought they were here already,” he replied trying to divert the attention of everyone on the thought that it was the driver’s fault and not him.
“I can’t believe you Toremo to take things that easy and lightly,” Dreckos shouted making everyone turn their heads facing Toremo with quizzical eyes.
Toremo suddenly was at a loss for words.
