His subordinate was already pale from fear. “This is not the time to talk about this! We’re doomed if we get arrested!”
“We won’t!” Jarrett clenched his teeth. “There’s still the secret passageway!”
They sprinted towards the shelves where Calista was.
She was determined to send Jarrett to the police, and since they had run in this direction, she guessed they had some hidden escape route.
She gave a wicked smile, then flipped the switch on her rape alarm device, and threw it in their direction.
The high pitched wail of the device terrified the subordinate protecting Jarrett!
“Over there!” The police started running in the direction of the sound.
Left with no choice, Jarrett had to give up using the secret passageway and run in a different direction from everyone else. He had never been at such a loss before!
Jarrett ran towards the warehouse and thought he saw the shadow that had thrown the alarm device earlier! D*mn it! If I catch that b*stard he’s going to die!
Calista hadn’t expected Jarrett to be so sharp, but she wasn’t easy to catch either!
Calista ran and texted Wyatt at the same time, swiftly gliding her way around the warehouse like a ghost.
It was very noisy outside, but dead silent inside the warehouse. “Come out!”
Jarrett’s cold and angry voice made Calista become even more excited. She couldn’t wait to see if he could remain this fierce once Wyatt appeared.
Jarrett’s eyes were bright in the darkness of the night – he couldn’t see clearly in the day and so he wore spectacles, but he had excellent night vision, which Calista had not expected.
She only found it strange that even though she was definitely moving faster than Jarrett, he was always able to catch up with her and she just couldn’t shake him off.
BANG! Calista had just stuck her head out to check and he fired a shot! If she was that split second too slow, she would have been hit.
Calista turned and ran!
Jarrett wasn’t too slow himself either, and was better at running than her, so he caught up with her very quickly.
To Jarrett, the night was as clear as day, but because Calista was all covered up, he did not recognize her.
Calista used one leg to kick the gun out of Jarrett’s hands, but because she was weaker in attacking despite being nimble, she could only keep hiding and dodging.
Jarrett only felt that this petite person was very familiar. That mild fragrance and agile body were so familiar but he couldn’t place it.
But since this person was after his life, he did not go soft, instead attacking more and more aggressively, and every stab of his dagger was meant to kill.
Finally his dagger slit the clothes of his opponent. His eyes focused and he realized his opponent was a woman!
The police had finally arrived on scene!
Jarrett stopped moving when he heard the noise, so Calista took this chance and kicked Jarrett onto the floor, and then quickly took off in the dark.
Wyatt heard the noise and ran towards it with his gun ready to shot. The warehouse was surrounded by a hundred policemen or so, so it was just a matter of time before they caught Jarrett.
Wyatt couldn’t believe how bold Calista was! Did she know how dangerous these people were? These were people who were not afraid to die, and she dared to come here!
Wyatt didn’t know why he was so worried – all he thought about was how that girl with a prickly personality might be hurt or even killed! The hand holding his gun suddenly felt unsteady.
Calista…nothing must happen to her!
