The two stared at the photo for a while. After Sharlene accepted it, Lea told her more in a gentle and comforting tone, “He grew up in a happy family. His family loves him deeply. He’s outstanding. He’s a genius.” 

Sharlene’s tears fell on the phone screen. 

She hurriedly wiped them with her hand, but the photo on the screen became blurry. Sharlene immediately picked up the phone and wiped it on her chest. 

Then, she stared blankly at the phone. 

“Also, the child you wanted to protect has grown up safely. She’s doing well now.” As she said, tears welled up in Lea’s eyes. 

Sharlene suddenly turned her head at Lea. She retreated warily and leaned against the wall with the phone. 

“Do you want to see your son? He’d love to see you. He’d like to see his mother,” asked Lea. 

“Yes!” Sharlene leaned closer to Lea and grabbed Lea’s hand. Her hoarse voice was anxious, but soon, she shrank back and kept shaking her head. 

, She could not let her son see her like this. She was a lunatic. 

Her son would be sad to see her. 

“Okay, let’s drop it. When you’re better and want to see him, I’ll bring him to you,” Lea said. 

Lea accompanied Sharlene for more than an hour. Sharlene was vigilant and did not chat much, so Lea just stayed by her side.

Ivan, Sydney, Marcus, and Christian were waiting at the stairs.

Lea had taken so long before coming out. Everyone let out a sigh of relief and held their breaths again.

Sydney’s and Marcus’s eyes were filled with tears. 

“I want to see her…” Ivan choked. He lowered his head to hide the tears in his eyes. 

Knowing that he had such a mother, he was shocked. At the same time, he thought of her experience and was sorry for her. Now, he only wanted to see her, although people said Sharlene was a bad woman and a lunatic with an antisocial personality.

She had brought a lot of clothes for Sharlene. It was already spring, so Lea chose a light blue top and white wide–legged pants for her. Then, Lea tied Sharlene’s hair behind her head. 

Lea was amazed to see the new Sharlene in the mirror.

“Sharlene, you’re so beautiful, do you know that? Your son looks like you,” said Lea. 

Ivan’s stunning eyes were inherited from Sharlene. 

Sharlene whirled back around and looked at Lea. “I know. You–you’re Jacqueline. You’re Jacqueline!” 

Sharlene suddenly hugged Lea and cried bitterly. 

Lea was shocked. ‘Do I look like Jacqueline?‘ she wondered. 

They had not found anything about Jacqueline. She only existed in the memories of these few people. 

Lea was at a loss for a while before comforting Sharlene again. Sharlene finally calmed down. 

Lea then went out and called Ivan in. 

Ivan had been waiting outside. In fact, whenever Lea came to see Sharlene recently, he would follow. 

When he heard Sharlene was willing to see him, Ivan immediately tidied his clothes.

Lea looked at the door for a moment before turning around and leaving. She gently closed the door.
