Her Second Marriage, Being Mr. Moore's New Wife novel Chapter 201

"Do you feel distressed for me?" Manfred curled his lips and said self-mockingly, "Will you feel more distressed for me and give me a chance?"

Charlotte, "Manfred, you..."

"Just call me by my name. I don't want to be your brother, I'd rather you call me by my name."

Manfred had put the words clear. After that, he had just to wait for a chance. It would be of useless to hurry. Before Charlotte said a word, he back away.

"You look pale today. Shall I give you a day off?"

He changed the topic, and Charlotte could only say, "No, I'm fine."

She just didn't sleep well; she wasn't sick.

"It's twenty minutes' drive to the company. It's still early. I'll drive slowly. Have a sleep in the car and I will tell you when we arrive.”

Charlotte felt this proposal good, so she nodded and then leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes.

Her heart was in a mess. As for what Manfred said, she thought at first he just wanted to involve her in the struggle between the two brothers, but after he swore, she became confused.

If he really didn't mean it, why did he say that?

If he just wanted to convince her, he had no need to swear.

Her brain was confused, but her eyelid was heavy, soon she fell asleep.

In a few moments, her breathing became even.

While waiting for the traffic light, Manfred carefully watched her.

Charlotte's facial features were delicate. When she was asleep, her eyelashes looked particularly long and thick. Her fair and tender eyes were surrounded by a faint black circle. Her eye sockets were deeper that those when she came to the Moore family.

She seemed to have been losing weight ever since she got married. Her chin was so thin that her face was no bigger than his hand.

Manfred sighed, could not help but reach out to remove the hair on her forehead and whispered, "I will protect you in the future."

Charlotte seemed to have slept for a long time. Probably she remembered she was on the way to the company, she asked if they had arrived when she woke up. And then she found they were in the parking lot. Charlotte was shocked.

"We have arrived?"

Manfred smiled, "We just arrived, don't worry, you can be on time."

Charlotte took out her phone to watch the time. Manfred handed over a bag, "Eat before you go upstairs."

"What is this?” Charlotte looked at the bag doubtfully, and then found that it was still warm. She opened the bag and found a bag of hot milk and custard tart bread.

They were the food she liked, Charlotte’s eyes moved.

"Thank you, brother." Charlotte took the bag and said, "But I'd better go upstairs and eat. It's not convenient here."

This was his car. If she ate here and got caught by others, they would be rumor.

"You still call me brother? I thought we agree that you call me by my name." Manfred smiled, like inadvertently asked. Charlotte was embarrassed, how could she do that? Then she lowered her eyes and did not answer.

"Forget it." Finally, Manfred heaved a sigh, "I should not force you and should give you time to adapt it. Go up first."
