The receptionist remained calm. "Since you're his girlfriend, why not just ask him directly on your phone? Why do you need to go through us?"
Chione was already in a bad mood after being dumped a few days ago, and the receptionist's words only made it worse. In an instant, she snapped.
"What do you mean by that? Are you doubting me? We just had a little fight, and he's only ignoring me for now. I'm just asking for his room number. Just tell me and mind your own business! Do you get that?"
"I'm sorry, but we can't provide that information."
"How can you not provide it? Isn't this literally your job as a receptionist? What's the big deal about telling me Ryan's room number? Is it such a big problem?"
"I won't be able to look it up for you unless you can provide his ID number."
"If I knew that, why would I even be asking you?"
"Sorry, then I can't help you."
"Is that all you know how to say?" Chione's face was flushed with anger. She was determined to argue until she achieved her goal.
The receptionist remained indifferent. She had dealt with enough people causing a scene to be unfazed by this behavior.
She simply replied nonchalantly, "If you continue causing a disturbance, I'll have to call security. I'm sure you don't want to make this situation worse. We're in a premium ward here, and noise is prohibited."
Chione was utterly infuriated. She was always quick-tempered and confident. Moreover, she was used to people flocking around her because she was the president of the student council. She had enjoyed being treated like royalty, but now, being treated this way was like a slap in the face.
"Haha! This is the biggest joke ever. Everyone knows that Ryan only pretended to pursue you to get my attention. You're not still hung up on that, are you? Samantha, it's time for you to wake up."
Hearing Chione's narcissistic remarks, Samantha couldn't hold back her laughter and said, "I think it's you who needs to wake up. Ryan dumped you. What are you still so proud of?
"Stop making a fool of yourself in front of others. If people find out you're also a student at Jedo Academy of the Arts, the whole school will be embarrassed along with you."
Samantha's words made Chione feel frustrated. Her fury surged, and her gaze landed on the bag of empanadas Samantha was holding. Without hesitation, she reached out to snatch it.
Before Samantha could react, Chione had already grabbed the bag of empanadas. She panicked and tried to snatch it back. "Ryan asked me to buy this!"
Chione took two steps back, effortlessly dodging Samantha's move, her eyes gleaming with smugness.
