Layla let out an excited squeal and quickly tore open the packaging, pulling the bag out. The beige bag's design was elegant and feminine, with a touch of class.
She immediately tried it on, checking it out from every angle. She looked absolutely over the moon. "Sam, you're truly my bestie! I can't believe you got this bag for me so quickly!"
Seeing Layla so happy made Samantha smile too. She said, "As long as you're happy."
"How much is it? I'll pay you back." Layla looked at Samantha.
"It's fine. My boyfriend bought it, and he didn't take a cent from me," Samantha said.
"Your boyfriend is just so goddamn…" Layla stopped mid-sentence, then continued. "...cool!"
The dramatic pause almost made Samantha rebut Layla's statement, but she only said, "Alright."
Meanwhile, Layla admired herself in the mirror for ages.
As they were chatting happily, a colleague of Layla's suddenly pushed open the break room door.
Layla jumped in surprise and quickly put the bag away. "Don't tell me I got caught slacking off? I'll head back right now."
"Not at all," her colleague teased. "You're our top sales agent here. The team leader wouldn't dare say a thing even if you slack off openly. I actually came to bring you good news."
"What good news?" Layla asked.
"Someone's here to buy a property and asked for you. They're waiting in the lobby," Layla's colleague said. "I've served them some refreshments. You should go take a look quickly."
"Alright!" Layla nodded and turned to Samantha. "Sorry, I might be tied up for a while."
"It's fine. Go do your thing," Samantha replied.
"If you're bored, feel free to look around. There's food in the front lobby, so help yourself. Just let them know you're my client," Layla instructed.
"Alright, I got it. Just go," Samantha said with a smile, and Layla left with her colleague.
Layla's colleague looked at her with envy. "You're really amazing. You've only been here for a few months, and your closing rate is already the highest. And now clients are coming to you on their own? Looks like you'll be promoted to team leader in no time."
Layla replied humbly, "It's still too soon to say. I've got to keep grinding."
