Chapter 54
Samantha sat alone on the steps for a long while before finally managing to calm herself down.
By the time she returned to the school entrance, the other volunteers were eagerly throwing themselves into their roles, enthusiastically leading shareholders toward the conference 100.
This gave Samantha a chance to slack off, so she found a quiet comer and stayed there until the meeting ended.
The volunteers gathered back in the student council activity room, where Chione gave a brief summary before officially concluding the event.
Right then, there was a knock on the door. The door was already open, but the sudden sound of someone tapping on the frame made everyone instinctively tum their heads.
Samantha looked up as well and saw Ryan casually leaning against the doorframe, his signature smirk in place.
“When will this be over?” he asked lazily
Chrone’s face timed a soft shade of pink. Her entire demeanor shifted the moment she saw her wealthy, handsome boyfriend. Her usual composed attitude melted away into something much more delicate and bashful.
“It be over son
“Alright, I’ll wait for you then
but one simple sentence sent Chione into a lovestruckdaze.
The student council members couldn’t resist teasing her.
“Damn, Chiode, you’re so lucky! I’m envious!”
“Chlone, why don’t you just ditch us and go on your date? We’ve got this covered!”
“Yeah, your happiness is the most important!”
The group laughed and egged her on
Chilone waved them off. “Oh, stop it! There’s really not much left to do. I just need to announce a few things, and we’ll be done.”
Ryan then tumed to the group. “Since everyone worked hard today, let me treat you all to lunch.”
Woah, you’re so generous, Mr. Shaw!”
“chine, your boyfriend is seriously amazing!”
“You’re so lucky, Chione1-
Samantha had no intention of joining them. She just wanted to stay as far away from Ryan and Chione as possible.
Before she could come up with an excuse to decline, Chiour said, “Since we’re all going to lunch, you’ll have to stay behind and organize the meeting notes, Samantha. Once you’re done, you can pass them to me, and I’ll submit them to the faculty.”
