back to Leonardo, puzzled, as if asking, “Walt so now it’s allowed to come upstalis?”
Chapter 68
Levando said, “Given the circumstances, letting it upstairs just once should be fine.”
stone hopped around Samantha on the stairs, clearly excited. It was hard to tell whether it was happy to stay by her side or thrilled to be upstairs for the first time.
Leonardo said, “I’ll wait for you downstairs”
“Abricht.”
Amaid led Samantha upstairs to a bedroom
Something about the room’s decor and furnishings felt oddly familiar. Then, it hit her–this was the same room from the photos Layla had sent her before.
So this was where Leonardo usually brought the women he took home, meaning that she was probably just one of them
Not that she ever thought she was special it there was anything unique about her, it was probably just sheer luck–luck to have met a man most people never
The maid pushed open the bathroom door. A large, round bathtub was already filled with steaming hot water. mist curling into the air and making the entire room warm and inviting.
She carefully explained the different functions of the bathroom’s features before finally saying, “If you need anything, just call me. I’ll be right outside.
With that, the maid stepped out.
Meanwhile, Stone had found a spot in the comer–one that gave it a clear view of the bathtub.
Samantha was puzzled. “You picked the perfect vantage point, didn’t you?”
Then, Stone barked, as it answering her. “Woot woot!”
“Unbelievable!
Woof wood!”
Amused by their conversation, Stone happily got up and rubbed its head against Samantha’s leg, its tail wagging furiously.
Even though it responded every time she spoke, it clearly had no idea what she said.
Samantha opened the door, trying to usher it out.
Stone dodged effortlessly, slipping back to its spot and wagging its tail as it watched her.
“So you’re really not leaving, huh?”
It barked in acimowledgement.
Outside the door, the maid couldn’t help but explain, “Ms. Newton, Stone just wants to protect you. It feels safer watching over you.” Hearing that warned Samantha’s heart.
State’s behavior was oddly comforting. But still, she wasn’t comfortable with a dog staring at her while she bathed.
“he good and go outside. You’ll see me again as soon as I’m done.”
Stupe stood its ground, refusing to budge.
So, Samantha took matters its her own hands, grabbing hold of it and trying to push it out.
Stone braced itself, paws planted firmly on the floor, resting with all its might. It was determined to stay
A battle of wills ensued.
