Her Tears Are His Weakness novel Chapter 91

Leonardo glanced up and asked icily, "Didn't I make it clear? I don't want to hear anything about her, including whatever that belongs to her."

He didn't need to specify who he had meant—Simon knew exactly it was Samantha.

Leonardo never cared enough about anyone to dislike them, yet he still chose to be at odds with Samantha. If he truly didn't want to hear anything about her, he could easily ensure that not a single word reached him. So, was there really a need to keep bringing her up?

He was just repeating himself to salvage his pride.

Curiously, Simon mentioned, "Mr. Garrett, I never said who delivered it."

Leonardo froze for a moment.

Busted!

Yet, his expression remained indifferent. "I just made a guess."

Simon naturally wouldn't call him out on it, so he played along and said, "It's my fault. I saw that Ms. Newton was alone downstairs, looking for help while everyone ignored her. I couldn't bear to watch, so I thought I would lend a hand.

"I apologize for not thinking it through. I'll throw the lunchbox right away and have security kick her out. I'll make sure she never steps foot in Evergreen Tower ever again!"

As he spoke, Simon quickly packed up the lunchbox and turned to leave.

He had barely taken a few steps when he heard Leonardo speak up, just as he expected.

"Wait," Leonardo said.

Simon smirked, but when he turned around, he looked absolutely puzzled. He was a master at switching expressions.

He innocently asked, "Mr. Garrett, is there anything else you need?"

"It's already there, and it would be a waste not to eat it. Just give it to me," Leonardo claimed.

"Okay." Simon knew Leonardo was trying to uphold his pride, so he chose not to say much and simply handed him the lunchbox.

Leonardo opened it, and the presentation was meticulous. In one of the compartments sat a heart-shaped fried egg, and his gaze softened slightly at the sight of it.

Samantha had put quite a bit of effort into the meal.

There were barbecued pork ribs, sautéed mixed vegetables, and pepper steak, along with a thermos of tomato soup.

Samantha was so hungry that her stomach grumbled. Fortunately, Lydia had brought her some tea and snacks, so she ate a little to hold herself over.

Suddenly, her phone rang. Samantha glanced at the screen and saw that it was Ryan calling. The mere sight of his name gave her a headache, and she was tempted to cancel the call on the spot. But after some contemplation, she decided to answer. "Hello?"

"Are you coming to see me today?" Ryan asked.

"I'm busy today," she replied.

"But—" He paused for a moment before letting out a wail like a banshee. "Oh, it hurts! It hurts so bad! I swear they are trying to kill me! Help me!

"Help! It hurts like hell! I don't want to live anymore! Save me, Samantha!"

"What's going on? What happened?" Ryan's agonized screams made Samantha a little anxious. It didn't sound like he was faking it, and she was worried that something had really happened to him.

"Oh… I can't! I'm dying! My leg—it's not crippled, is it? Help me!"

Ryan sounded like he was in so much pain that he could barely answer her. Samantha couldn't shake off her concern and immediately got up to leave. But then she remembered Simon's earlier reminder and decided to speak with Lydia first.
