Chapter 40 You Are Mistaken
The unlocking of the safety catch was heard very clearly in the small room.
He laughed coldly. “I will put away all the ones who can’t be controlled or pose a threat to me. If you thought that I won’t bear to kill you because your little seduction game has made me interested in you, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you.”
Jarrett said this while hoping to see panic and despair on Calista’s face.
He had come all the way here prepared to kill her! She was way too mysterious and impossible to control, and she knew too much about the Sinclairs. So even if he ended up offending Kallum, Calista had to die!
But everyone knew how much Kallum hated Calista. So saving her the last time was probably merely out of his sense of righteousness and responsibility.
Calista merely laughed.
This unexpected reaction made Jarrett frown, and when her beautiful sparkling eyes looked up at him, Jarrett suddenly felt his breathing stop…
Then suddenly his hand was in great pain! A needle was stuck on the back of his hand, making his hand go numb instantly. The gun landed on the sofa, and Jarrett immediately made a grab for it with his other hand, but Calista grabbed his hand and pulled hard, flipping him over and then used her body weight to press him down on the sofa.
Now the barrel of the gun was on Jarrett’s head.
Jarrett had clearly underestimated his opponent – he did not expect that Calista’s needles were able to do something like this.
Calista used the gun to whack his head very hard twice before she calmed down. “Mr. Sinclair, this is what you did to me the last time, how does it feel?”
Jarrett’s forehead had turned red from the impact, and his glasses had fallen to one side, revealing his long and cold eyes, staring icily at Calista.
“You’ve got several tricks up your sleeve.”
Calista laughed, “Who doesn’t have an ultimate move?”
She continued to point the gun at him, and used her other hand to pinch Jarrett’s face, and said maliciously, “Also, you said I don’t understand you at all. That’s true, because I don’t need to.”
An evil smile spread across her face. “If you choose to be obedient, then listen to everything I say. If you choose to be disobedient, then I’m going to make your life hell until you become obedient! So why should I understand you?”
She was pinching him very hard, as if Jarrett’s face was a piece of dough for kneading!
Jarrett was thoroughly humiliated, “Bloody hell! Let go of my face!”
Calista pretended that she didn’t hear anything and used even more force to pinch him! In her previous life she could only see this man from afar, so since she had the chance this time round, she wanted to

She clicked her tongue as she praised him. “Mr. Sinclair, your skincare routine is not bad huh, your face is pretty soft.”
Jarrett struggled for a while but just couldn’t get out of Calista’s grip. His anger had reached boiling point, and his eyes were staring daggers at her now.
“Calista, don’t you consider the consequences of your actions?”
The Sinclairs were a family that the Staffords needed to respect! How dare she!
Calista smiled calmly, and the hand that was kneading his face just patted his face and she looked down at him. “The consequences is merely death, and death is merely…”
There was a tinge of loneliness in that unfinished sentence, and it somehow managed to pause Jarrett’s
anger.
But Calista had gotten up.
“Ok, end of fun and games.
She placed the gun gently on the table and glared at Jarrett in irritation before she coldly said, “If you dare to point a gun at me again, I’ll incapacitate your hand! Every time you point it at me, I’ll incapacitate a limb! And I mean what I say!”
This bold threat stunned Jarrett who had managed to sit up.
He should have gotten furious, stood up and taught her a lesson!
But strangely enough, after seeing the malice in her eyes, that cruel description made him feel excited.
What on earth was he excited about? Did he look forward to Calista shooting one of his limbs?
The gun was right in front of him, but he no longer wished to use it now. He had to admit that he couldn’t bear for this woman to die.
Seeing that Jarrett had calmed down, Calista continued drying her hair, as if everything that happened was but a dream. “Back to the original topic. I gave you top secret information and saved you an internal conflict within the family. I want five million for it, transfer it to my account. Any objections?”
Calista was surprised that his attitude had changed completely, but didn’t ask further.
“It doesn’t matter, you won’t get to experience it.”
“Why not give it a try?” Jarrett stood up. “Perhaps after you’ve tried you’d end up falling in love with me.”
