"You didn't say it but I know you think so," Liam said.
Abigail was rendered speechless.
She didn't think that way at all.
"You want to cook me a good meal because I saved your life. Good. Go ahead," Liam said.
Abigail clenched her fists!
He'd saved her life.
Did he think she owed a deep debt of gratitude to him?
Fine.
She admitted that she was beholden to him.
It was true that he'd saved her life.
Abigail relented and asked, "You want spaghetti?"
Liam raised his eyebrows languidly.
"But I didn't buy spaghetti."
"Then just cook with what you bought. I'm not picky," Liam said.
There was nothing Abigail could say.
So she started cooking.
Seeing Abigail compromise, Liam smiled.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Abigail turned to open the door, but Liam said, "I'll get it."
Abigail watched him walking to answer the door and resumed cooking.
Liam was startled when he opened the door.
Outside the door, Leo was startled too.
He hadn't expected to see Liam here.
"Seriously?"
"Why are you here?"
The two of them asked in unison.
