Chapter 143 The Sarcasm
“Oh, the live broadcast of that grand wedding?”
Kara pricked up her ears. Hugging herself, she prepared her heart.
“I wonder why Frank Harper chose her. Frank is a perfect man, while she is ... way under par. Look, her appearance is so ordinary. Frank must be ashamed of her.”
“Could it be that Frank proposed because of the twins? He had no choice? Or could it be that Frank is already captivated by her performance in bed? She is not beautiful, not rich, and not famous. What other value would she have if not that?"
Kara subconsciously clenched her jaw. Her breathing turned heavy. Before her blood rose any higher, she continued walking.
“What's wrong with the people here? Why do they like commenting on other people so much? Once again I hear someone insulting me, I will plug their mouths with their own words," she grumbled with furrowed eyebrows. However, after a few steps, she took a quick breath.
‘No! I can't be influenced. Today is our happy day. I can't let anyone else ruin it. They are just strangers. I don't need to pay attention to what they say.’ While trying to forget the negative comments, she approached Frank and the twins.
After leaving the castle, they went to another arena. Not only Louis, but also Emily was amused to see a lot of cars with face. Even though they were only tall enough to ride on tractors and dancing cars, their laughter still boomed.
"Daddy, can we come here again when we are 40 inches tall? I want to take a ride at Radiator Springs!” Louis said as they took a break in a cafe.
"Me too!" Emily exclaimed with equal enthusiasm.
Before Frank had time to reply, Louis was already teasing her. “I think that would be a long time for you to reach 40 inches, Emily.”
Emily's lips immediately pursed. Her hands were placed on her waist. “You can't say that, Louis. You can’t be mean to me.”
“I said the truth. Even though you drink more milk lately, you haven't gotten any taller either. It seems that if you want to get taller quickly, you have to pull your head and legs every day.”
Blinking, Emily started to pout. In just a short time, tears began to gather in her eyes. Kara quickly reached out her hand, stroking her chubby cheek.
“Little Bee, don't be sad. What Louis said was not true. You will grow taller when you reach the time."
Instead of holding back, Emily's tears spilled. “But I want to get taller quickly. I don't want to be left alone while Mommy and Daddy ride in the car at Radiator Springs with Louis.”
"Princess," Frank got up from the chair and took Emily into his arms. Wiping her wet cheeks, he spoke softly, “We won’t leave you alone. If you’re not tall enough, we won’t take the ride.”
"Is it true? But Louis seems impatient.” Emily glanced at her brother who put on an innocent look.
“Okay, I'm sorry. I forgot that today and tomorrow, I can't make Emily cry." Louis nodded helplessly.
Suddenly, Kara folded her hands on the table and looked at her son closely. “Louis, you realize that your mistake wasn't just making Emily cry, right?” Her tone was gentle, but firm.
Louis' cheeks puffed out as his lips were tucked in. “Does it include body shaming? OK, I'm sorry. I won't do it again."
Kara nodded sagely then turned to the little girl. "Emily, do you want to forgive your brother?"
Emily rubbed her eyes and nodded. "Yes."
Frank was secretly amazed by the way his lover handled the twins' quarrel. "Kids, since you've reconciled, you deserve a treat. Would you like some ice cream?"
Louis and Emily looked at each other with sparkling eyes. "Woohoo! I like ice cream!" Louis immediately slumped down from the chair.
