Chapter 153 Stop Calling Me Young Master
"I want to finish my apartment. Daddy said it might be a design for the next Savior project." Louis nodded firmly.
"And I," Emily raised one hand, "I would make Mommy's wedding dress as my first project. Mommy will be the most beautiful bride in the whole world when she wears it."
Taking his seat, Frank let out a laugh. "Your projects are really cool. Daddy can't wait to see the progress."
"But Emily, why don't you make suit for Daddy too? You can't play favorites," Louis said, raising an eyebrow.
Emily pursed her lips. "I'm afraid there isn't enough time. But, I'll try my best."
While Emily nodded confidently, Susan glanced at Frank and Kara. "Have you guys decided on a wedding date?"
"Not yet, Mom," Kara answered, half laughing. “There are still several things to take care of before that.”
"Okay, I understand. Louis and Emily are the ones who are too excited. Now, should we have breakfast?" Susan changed the subject.
While the twins cheered happily, Frank glanced at his elder brother who was standing on the side of the room with the guards.
"Jeremy, what are you doing there? Come sit with us."
Jeremy raised his eyebrows. His breath hitched and his heart tingled with a strange sensation. "I've had breakfast, Young Master."
The air suddenly froze. Frank even shivered a little. "Should he still call me that?" he grumbled.
After a faint sigh, he pointed to the chair next to Louis. "Sit there. From now on, you don't have to eat alone. You are part of our family. So, you have to eat with us."
"Yes, Uncle. Sit with us. Even though you've already had breakfast, it's okay. Just drink," Emily reassured.
"Yes! Sit beside me, Uncle." Louis showed his rows of tiny teeth.
Silently, Jeremy watched the faces around him. Kara and Susan smiled kindly. The twins nodded waiting for his reaction. Frank and the guards gave him support through eye movements.
Little by little, the corners of his lips moved up. "Okay."
He felt strange when he approached the chair. But as soon as he sat there, he knew. The feeling that welled up in his chest was emotion.
"Yeay! Our family is growing!" Emily exclaimed while clapping her hands.
Because his hand was still in a cast, Louis could only pat his thigh even though it didn't make a sound. "Woohoo! We have an uncle now!"
Jeremy got teary eyes. Holding back a smile, he looked straight at Frank. No words were spoken, but the universe knew what they were saying in silence. The two men officially formed a brotherly bond.
Arriving at the office, Frank took the twins to their respective rooms. Only then did he open up a real conversation with his brother.
"Jeremy, can we talk?"
The assistant raised an eyebrow. "Is this about the medical project?"
Kara secretly smiled. Gently, she touched her lover's arm. "Frank, I'll go to my desk."
"Okay."
Knowing the situation, the guards moved to follow Kara.
"Do you want coffee?" Frank offered a little awkwardly.
Jeremy blinked stiffly. Frank only offered him coffee when he needed consultation. "Do you want to strategize so that your wedding goes smoothly, Young Master?"
Before Frank had time to explain, Jeremy interrupted at greater length. "I know your heart has softened, but has your brain softened too? Come to your senses, Young Master."
"Stop calling me Young Master!"
Jeremy nodded swiftly. "Okay, Frank. Come to your senses, Frank. You're the one who succeeded in making Savior come to life. You're the one who succeeded in developing the company into various fields. You're also the one who made Savior the most successful business in history."
"You were with me all that time. Don't you understand it too?" Frank squinted.
"It's not a matter of understanding or not, but the execution. I'm not as smart or perfectionist as you. I'm not a visionary who can determine the direction of the company. I don't even like being faced with choices. That's why ...."
Jeremy tilted his head forward. "I prefer to be an assistant who only needs to listen to the boss' instructions. That position is just right for you, Frank. You are the true leader of the Savior."
Frank didn't budge. His eyes trembled as he watched Jeremy. "You reject my offer?" His voice dropped drastically.
Jeremy straightened his expression and nodded. "Yes. And don't try to give me another position. I don't like living under pressure or demands. I want to be free."
"You feel free while being my assistant?" Frank knitted his eyebrows. A second later, he snorted. "Impossible. Your duties are much heavier than the others."
"But I'm the one who spends the most time with my brother. I follow all your directions with a peaceful heart."
Frank was stunned. He never knew that Jeremy had that much sincerity. Previously, he thought his assistant was working hard for money. But apparently, it was all for their togetherness?
"Frank Harper, listen to me. Freedom is not about how relaxed you are. It’s about how much meaning in whatever you do. A painter feels free when his hand is busy moving the brush. A writer feels free when his mind is busy arranging the words. And I ...."
Jeremy paused, adding a serious impression to his speech. "I feel free when I carry out missions from you. I like my job, Frank. Please don't change it."
Frank's breathing turned heavy. Jeremy just made him realize that everyone's wants and needs were not the same. Being a company leader was very important to him, but not to Jeremy. Their points of views were different.
