Chapter 167 Crazy Isabela
“Mommy, is Isabela crazy? I'm scared." Emily clutched Kara's satin kimono.
"I think she's crazy. Should we call a mental hospital?” Louis answered without looking away. His eyes lingered on how Isabela danced around the mannequin while ruining the dress.
"What did you say?" Isabela's voice jolted the twins. Her glaring eyes made them hold their breath. "Did you say I'm crazy?"
Suddenly, Isabela dropped the scissors. She dragged the innocent statue and threw it at Kara's feet.
"Your mother is the one who is crazy. She thinks she‘s worthy to take my place as Mrs. Harper. Has she never looked in a mirror?”
Isabela stroked her own face. “I am so pretty, while she’s ugly. I'm famous and have lots of fans, while she ... she doesn’t even have a proper dress for her wedding."
Grinning, Isabela leaned closer to the twins. "Aren't you embarrassed to have a mother like her?"
Louis leaned closer to Kara. His eyes glanced at Emily with the same horror. Nothing came out of his lips. He had never faced a madman before.
Receiving an unexpected response, Isabela's face turned sour. While gritting her teeth, she started to snap. “Why are you guys silent? Come on, cry! Let your frustration out. This moment is broken. Cry!"
The twins frowned. Their confusion fueled greater anger within Isabela.
"You ...." Her finger pointed at Emily. “Aren't you the one who designed this dress? Why don't you cry? You like your mother wearing this tattered dress?”
Emily shrank away, hiding behind Kara. Strengthening her grip, she looked up. She hoped that her mother could give her instructions on what answer to give. However, Kara was also silent.
“Is this still not messy enough?” Isabela trampled on the mannequin. Her breathing was getting hoarse and louder. "Do I need to burn it then give it to your mother?"
“Miss Hall, stop. Don't you feel sorry for yourself?” Kara sighed softly. “Come to your senses. It's not too late for you to fix all this. Forgive yourself and start a new life. Think about your parents.”
Isabela waved her hands furiously. “Shut up! You don’t have the rights to tell me to forgive myself. What did I do wrong?"
Kara sighed in pity. "You won't be able to change if you don't want to admit you’re wrong," she said weakly.
Just as Isabel was about to bluff, several people came with bodyguards. “Sorry to make you wait so long. Mister Harper asked us to highlight the dresses from all angles. We have so much fun that we forget the time."
Isabela was taken aback by two mannequins covered in beautiful dresses. With shaking eyes, she looked at the pieces of cloth under her feet. "This is not the wedding dress?"
“To be honest, I thought you're a great model, Miss Hall. Your name is famous and you have a lot of experience. But, seeing you fail to recognize the quality of a dress like this, I think I should change my assessment.” Kara nodded slowly.
"You ...!" Isabela's voice echoed. "What's this? A trap? You guys gave me the wrong dress on purpose?”
“It's just a display. I put it to entertain Kara. You can't possibly think I'm that careless, right?” Frank suddenly appeared from the stairs. Behind him, Mr. and Mrs. Hall walked with their mouths agape.
“Oh, God. What have you done, Isabel?" Vincent still tried to keep his voice down.
Isabela's fists clenched together. Her shoulders rose and fell faster. “You guys are in cahoots? You all deliberately ruined my plans?”
“If you don't want your plans ruined, you'll have to learn how to sneak again.” A second later, Frank turned to Kara and the twins. "Are you guys okay?"
Before the three people had time to answer, Isabela shouted and raised both arms. Just as her hands almost reached Kara's hair, two bodyguards secured her.
"No! Let me go! She must be taught a lesson.” In the next second, Isabela uttered harsh words that made Kara and Frank cover the twins' ears.
Vincent Hall could no longer remain silent. While his wife bit her lip, having no heart to watch their daughter, he glanced at his assistant. With just one nod, the man injected something into Isabela. After a few moments, Isabela was no longer conscious.
“Take my daughter to the car!”
