S31 27. Misconception
Kara laughed awkwardly. “No, Little Bee. Philip made it up.”
“Mommy and Daddy were just exercising,” Frank continued before embracing Kara from behind. On purpose, so that Sophia would stop having the wrong idea.
“Daddy,” Emily puffed out her cheeks, “Mommy has just recovered. Why did you take her to exercise until she was exhausted? Poor Mommy.”
“Yes, your action was not wise, Daddy. Next time, just take me and Emily. Let Mommy rest. If not, you can just rent a horse. Do the
exercise during the day. Don’t do it at night.”
Philip burst into laughter. Louis was confused when he saw him.” What’s so funny? Isn’t horse riding a sport?”
“Philip laughed because I tickled him, Louis.” Barbara showed her fingers and then demonstrated. Kara shook her head at the young couple’s behavior.
At that moment, Jeremy stepped in. Seeing his messy appearance, everyone’s focus was diverted.
“Uncle, what’s wrong with your hair?”
Jeremy looked at Emily with a slightly raised eyebrow. “I haven’t brushed it yet. Is it messy?”
“Very messy.”
“Have you brushed your teeth and washed your face?” Louis moved
his hand near his cheek.
Jeremy nodded. “Yes. Why?”

“You look like you’ve been sleeping on the street.”
“Where did you sleep last night, Uncle? I saw that the bed next to Louis was neat this morning. You didn’t stay in our room,” Emily shook her head.
Silence spread in the air. The adults exchanged glances, except
Sophia. Her eyes trembled as she watched Jeremy.
“Could it be… last night it was Jeremy, not Frank?”
Blinking, she checked her memory. Frank’s voice and movements had been strange since entering the stable, and she couldn’t see his face clearly since the moonlight was occasionally covered by clouds.
“Oh? What’s wrong with your hand, Uncle?”
Everyone immediately looked at Jeremy’s hand. The man himself came to check it out. Apparently, there were scratches on the back of his hand.
“Who scratched you, Uncle?” Emily asked worriedly.
In an instant, Sophia’s face turned pale. She remembered very well, she was the one who made the mark when she wanted the man to hold her tighter.
“Gosh!” Sophia cursed in her heart. Her breath started to rumble. How could I possibly sleep with him? When, obviously, Frank was the one who went to the stable with me.
In an instant, anger welled up inside Sophia. She felt cheated. Without thinking about anything else, she took steps towards Jeremy.
“Come with me,” Sophia grabbed his hand.
Jeremy furrowed his brows. His legs refused to move. “What for? I want breakfast.”

“Follow me!”
Everyone gasped. Even Abigail stopped squeezing oranges. However, when she turned around, Sophia and Jeremy were gone.
“Did they fight?” She blinked, surprised.
Frank shrugged his shoulders stiffly. “It seems so.” He was fully aware that he had put his brother in that difficult position.
Meanwhile, Diana just left her room. Seeing Sophia walking quickly while pulling Jeremy, she was stunned.
“What are they doing?” Curious, she followed.
“Where are you going to drag me? Do you want us to do it again? At last night’s place?” Jeremy sounded uncomfortable.
Sophia threw Jeremy’s hand away. Her eyes were red and her jaw was throbbing furiously. She didn’t care that they had only just reached the front porch. Her emotions could no longer be suppressed.
“You owe me an apology. No-you should be on your knees begging me for forgiveness.” Sophia’s voice was trembling, low but full of emphasis.
Jeremy snorted slightly. “For what? I’m innocent.”
“Innocent?” Sophia laughed bitterly. A second later, her finger poked Jeremy’s shoulder. “You must be responsible for your action against me. You have made me dirty.”
Furrowing his eyebrows, Jeremy brushed off the touch. “You’re crazy, huh? I’m the one who should sue you. You’re the one who framed me.”
“I didn’t frame you.” Sophia’s voice was a little shrill.
“Oh, yes.” Jeremy’s finger suddenly straightened and swung briefly. Correction. You intended to frame my brother, but instead, I was

trapped. Do you realize that what you did was evil?”
Sophia gritted her teeth harder. “You’re the real evil.”
“Don’t distort the facts, Miss Moore. You intended to seduce someone’s husband. You even prepared the stimulants. You should be lucky that I got hit. If it was my brother, I can’t imagine what
disaster would come.”
Sophia didn’t reply. She continued to cast a hateful gaze.
“What?” Jeremy challenged. “Do you want to deny that it’s normal spray? Should we call Frank and ask for his testimony?”
While putting his hands in the pockets, Jeremy tilted his head. “Do you know? Frank actually inhaled the drug too. But, when he was at the door, he handed me the boxes. He said he had to see Kara. Do you know what that means?”
Jeremy raised the corner of his lips. “No matter what, you will never get my brother. He already belongs to Kara. No matter how far he goes, he will always come home to Kara. So stop targeting him and don’t bother our family anymore.”
Diana, who was eavesdropping, blinked rapidly. The puzzle in her
head had not been arranged systematically.
“What really happened? Did Sophia sleep with him? But she wanted Frank?”
