S31 37. Feeling Lost
The sheets on the twins’ bed looked quite neat even though they were a little wrinkled in the middle. Diana suspected that the twins’ tiny hands were trying to smooth it over.
“Why do I only realize now that they are so cute? Why is it so late?”
Diana stepped inside, hoping that her longing would fade. Unfortunately, the hole in her chest only got bigger. No matter how much air she sucked in, she couldn’t get rid of the shortness of breath.
“I should have visited here while they were still around.”
With teary eyes, Diana scanned the room. She could imagine how cheerful the twins were staying there. They might like dancing in front of the mirror or jumping up and down on the bed.
As the corners of Diana’s lips began to lift, her eyes fell on a piece of paper under the pillow. “What’s that?”
Diana lifted the pillow. A pen immediately rolled across the paper. The letters on it were rather large and slightly wavy. However, Diana could still read it.
“Louis and Emily’s holiday wish list.
The old woman squinted. Her head moved back. The following b had been marked with a cross.
“Playing with horses and Grandma Diana. Doing a role play for Grandma Diana. Reading fairy tales before bed with Grandma Diana.”
The more Diana read, the heavier her heart became. When she arrived at the last row, her eyes were wet. That was the only one the twins hadn’t dropped.

“Celebrating the New Year party with Grandma Diana.”
A sigh started Diana’s sobs. Hugging the paper, she whispered, “I’m sorry, Kids. Sorry to disappoint you.
Diana could not bear the sadness. She curled up on the bed,
regretting. She could only erase her longing with the scent of the twins
that remained there.
“Frank,” Kara took her husband’s hand and stroked it gently, “do you think Grandma is okay?”
The man who was closing his eyes then glanced. “Okay how?”
Kara smiled wryly. “Didn’t you see her earlier? She looked like she wanted to convey something. Maybe it was regret, or an invitation for peace. She has changed a lot better today.”
Frank pursed his lips. “Yes, I noticed it, but what can we do? We have to go home immediately. Your health is more important, and so is
that issue.”
While Kara sighed faintly, Frank kissed her temple. “After this problem is resolved, let’s visit her again. Let’s take care of what hasn’t resolved, hmm?”
The corners of Kara’s lips lifted faintly. “I feel sorry for Grandma she really regrets it, now she must feel empty and maybe lonely. When the twins stopped hugging her earlier, she felt lost.”
Kara turned to the seat across the aisle. Frank leaned forward and watched. Emily was apparently asleep, while Louis pressed his face. against the plane window.
“It’s hard to believe that the twins were willing to leave the farm
earlier. None of their wish lists have been fulfilled yet,” Kara sighed.
“At least they got to hug Grandma,” Frank muttered, provoking a glance at his wife.
“That’s much better than nothing?” Kara raised an eyebrow.
Frank nodded. While holding Kara’s hand, he whispered, “You said yourself that Grandma has changed. The children’s wish list will definitely be fulfilled later. Now don’t think too much anymore. Just
focus on the little one. You don’t need to pay attention to my
mother’s issue either. Tonight, I will take action against the perpetrator.”
However, Kara’s eyes weren’t bright either. Her lips even curved downwards.
“What else, Queen Bee?” Frank put his arm around her shoulders and
rubbed.
Kara shook her head weakly. “I don’t know. This is too unbelievable. It seems impossible that someone as kind as Sophia could do something cruel.”
Frank sighed. He regretted bringing up the issue at the end of his statement. “She’s not kind, Kara.”
“She’s kind, Frank.” Kara looked at her husband deeper. “Do you remember the first time we met her? She was very warm and fri Even after we captured the guests attention with the proposal
didn’t say anything.”
Frank’s lips pursed. “That’s because she has to defend her good name, Kara. She’s just looking for attention.”
Suddenly, Kara’s finger poked Frank’s chest gently. “Do you know? When you fell into the sea, it was Sophia who calmed me down. She couldn’t have done it if her heart wasn’t good, Frank.”
“Who knows, maybe she meant to get Finnic’s attention?” Frank

shrugged.
Kara smiled wryly and stroked her husband’s cheek. “Your opinion can not be changed, hmm?”
“Yes, she slandered you and tried to take me away from you. There’s no reason to think she’s kind or good.”
Kara blinked helplessly. “That’s what amazes me.
Once again, Frank kissed his wife’s temple. “Can you stop thinking about all the problems? You can’t stress, Kara. Our baby’s
development could be hampered.”
Frank lowered his hand, stroking her stomach. Kara looked down, watching. Little by little, the corners of her lips turned up.
“You’re right. I shouldn’t stress our baby out. But you must promise me you’ll be careful later. Don’t make any rash moves because I won’t be there to remind you.”
“I’ll always remember that, Queen Bee. Don’t worry. As long as you and the twins are safe, my sanity is safe too.”
Leaning her head against Frank’s neck, Kara linked their fingers. “So, we separate as soon as we land?”
