S31 75. A Betrayer
“Philip?”
Silence greeted him. There was no longer any voice. Only the sound of the turn signal clicking reminded him that time was running out.
“Philip?” Frank called louder. His eyes started to fill with tears.
Seeing his confusion, Barbara held her breath. Her heart was pounding and her throat was dry. “W-what happened? What’s wrong with Philip?”
With eyes filled with red streaks, Frank lowered his phone. His hands hung helplessly.
“This is the consequence if you disobeyed. Take care of your taxi yourself. I have to save Philip and my kids.
Barbara’s knees became weak. She staggered until her back found a wall to lean against.
“Philip?”
Her face turned pale. When Frank walked over her shoulder, she forced her body to move, reaching for the phone on the table. Unfortunately, twice she made a call, twice Philip didn’t pick up.
Meanwhile, in the middle of a road, a car had overturned. The cars around were out of order. Some failed to dodge wooden blocks that rolled from a large truck.
Philip was unaware of the chaos. His vision was dark, his hearing
blocked. Only when the ringing in his ears subsided could he hear his phone buzzing under his head.
“Barbara ….”
Philip thought it was the kidnapper who was calling. Blinking, he gathered his senses. With his hands swinging freely, he tried to reach for his phone.
Unfortunately, the screen full of cracks was beyond his reach. His
only way was to remove the seat belt. Unfortunately, when he fell, he crushed the phone with his knee.

“I told you, distracting the guards is easy. Now, let’s save Auntie Barbara and Philip!” Louis raised his fist forward like Superman about
to fly.
Seeing the boy’s enthusiasm in the rearview mirror, Sean let out a faint breath. However, watching Emily’s anxiety, he gripped the steering wheel tighter.
“Young Master, Young Lady, do you have any plans yet? When you arrive there, what do you want to do?”
Emily glanced at her twin. “I will just follow Louis’ directions. I actually don’t know what we can do to help Philip and Auntie.”
“Don’t worry, Emily. I already have an idea. When we get there, Sea will park the car in a place that is out of sight. We’ll look for wher Auntie is being held. Then we contact Philip and together, we tak Auntie away secretly.”
Sean sighed heavily. “The plan is not detailed enough, Young Master. You must have more thorough preparations.”
Louis was stunned. “Do you have any suggestions, Sean?”
Sean gritted his teeth. His lips trembled, not having the heart to give
an answer that the twins didn’t deserve to hear.
“The enemy is like a lion ready to pounce. They like to target
frightened prey. Therefore, remember my words carefully.
Louis sharpened his hearing. Even Emily held her breath, afraid that the sound of her exhalation would cover up the explanation.
“Don’t cry when facing them. Keep standing straight and speak loudly. Rest assured that your parents will soon come to the rescue. If necessary, bluff and threaten them back. Offers of profitable cooperation can also be useful. The important thing is don’t look weak. Because if that happens, you will be oppressed.”
Louis blinked as he processed it. Sean had never spoken that long in one breath.
“Okay. But, why do you say that, Sean? Aren’t we going to sneak around? We’re not going to face them.”
Sean swallowed bitterly. His voice became increasingly barren. “Just think of it as a precaution.”
Louis tilted his head. Something felt strange in his heart. “Okay. We understand. Daddy usually calls it plan B. So what is our plan A? Once we get out of the car, what should we do, Sean? Do you have any suggestions?”
For a long time, Sean didn’t make a sound. The twins thought the man was strategizing. However, when a heavy sigh escaped his mouth, the car turned towards an old building.
“Hmm? Is it the place where Auntie’s being held?” Louis whispe Emily spontaneously bit her lip.
Sean’s chest felt very tight. Various feelings had entangled his hear Despite it, he still stopped the car in a dim and dirty parking lot. The plan could not be changed.
“Remember, Young Master and Young Lady. Stay strong and don’t get separated. You can’t get hurt. Hold on until your parents come.” He
tried to sound calm.
O
“Wait, Sean. You haven’t explained what your strategy is? Or could it be you agree to carry out my strategy? But you said it wasn’t detailed enough?”
Sean sighed in resignation. “Frank has taught you all, right? Once you get out of the car, apply your knowledge. I’m sure you can get through all of this safely and be reunited with your parents.”
Louis and Emily exchanged glances. They didn’t understand what Sean was talking about. When they were about to ask, Sean had
come out and opened the door for them. Like it or not, Louis shifted to the edge of his seat.
“Come on, Emily. Follow my steps. Stay close. We can do it.”
Louis jumped down excitedly. However, when he saw what was in front of him, he widened his eyes. His brain froze, his body stiff. He forgot to step forward so Emily bumped into him.
“Louis! Why did you suddenly stop? We just came out,” the little girl scolded, whispering. However, when her eyes looked in the same direction, she gasped.
“Louis, who are they?” Emily asked as she snuggled into her brot
shoulder.
“I don’t know, Emily,” Louis answered stiffly. He still didn’t underst why there were so many people in front of them.
