S31 107. Crazy Heartbeat
Ava shook her head. “You never hurt me.”
“I’m the one who hurt you,” she thought later, painfully.
“So what? What makes you sad? Tell me.”
Jeremy’s voice had never been so soft. However, Ava’s defense
remained strong. She was reluctant to reveal her evil plan. She was too embarrassed.
“Can’t you hate me?” Ava whispered before continuing silently. “It just felt right to me.”
Jeremy furrowed his brows. “Why do you ask that?”
“Because I’m not a good person. I’ve put other people down for my
own interests. I’m selfish.”
“Why are you bringing up Sophia’s problem again? Did someone mention that matter? That person called you unfit to be close to me and my family because of that?”
Ava’s hands clenched. She didn’t dare open her mouth.
“If that’s what makes you sad, just ignore what he or she said. The person might be jealous of you.”
Jeremy misunderstood, but Ava saw it as an opportunity.
“What if what she said turns out to be true? I’m selfish and reckless. What if one day… I’m pressed again by circumstances and forced to kill someone? Would you still care about me?”
Jeremy pursed his mouth. “You know what friends are for? To help. each other in times of trouble. So, if you’re in trouble, just call me. I can get you out of there. You don’t need to feel trapped, let alone kill

“Good. Don’t try to trick me or I’ll send you your sister’s heart straight away. I know you’re in your friend’s room.”
Ava spontaneously looked around. There were no cameras in the room and the windows were covered with thick curtains.
“She must be making it all up. She’s just bluffing.”
Ava tried to calm herself. With shaking hands, she put the phone back. into her pocket. Then, while biting her nails, her eyes darted back and forth between the pills in her grasp and the transparent container.
“Eva will definitely be fine. I just need to get Jeremy to cooperate.”
However, her hands moved back and forth. Doubt hit her heart like a -war drum. Only when her ears caught the sound of footsteps did she
switch the supplements in a hurry.
“So, what do you want to talk about?”
Ava turned around and stuttered. Her hand that was holding the poison pill was shaking violently. “I think I’d better eat in my room.
Jeremy didn’t put the tray on the table. One of his eyebrose. Aren’t you going to talk?”
“Later. Maybe after I finish eating.” Ava got up from the chair a took the tray. “Excuse me.”
Jeremy frowned when he saw Ava come out of his room. “What’s wrong with her? Why is she anxious again?”
Ava realized that Jeremy was confused. She knew she should speak. However, her guts were not enough. The dilemma again eroded her
confidence.
Arriving at the room, Ava put down the tray. While pacing back and forth, she tried to catch her breath.

“Calm down, Ava. Trust Jeremy. He can definitely help you save Eva.”
As her gaze fell on the food on the plate, Ava’s breathing stopped rumbling. Jeremy’s kindness seemed to be engraved there.
“Yes, I couldn’t possibly harm him for Eva’s sake. No.”
Right at that moment, Ava saw the pills lying beside the tray. She froze. Her heart seemed to explode, sending jolts of electricity
throughout her body. She had switched the wrong pills! One poison pill was still there!
“No… Impossible!”
Ava’s face turned white. Without wasting any time, she ran to Jeremy’s room. She tried to break in straight away. But apparently, the door was locked.
“Jeremy? Jeremy! Please open the door. Please….”
Ava’s tears flowed without pause. Every second felt like a minute to her. She couldn’t bear to imagine Jeremy lying on the floor with his
mouth full of foam.
“Jeremy?”
“Could you please stop banging on the door and screaming Jeremy’s voice was heard as the door began to swing oper from making me panic, you could cause misunderstandings. My mother is in the next room, remember?”
Instead of being happy, Ava just barged in and approached the table The half of the water in the glass made her heart beat crazy.
“This isn’t right,” she muttered over and over again.
Once she found the dangerous pill that was still there, she sighed in relief. Jeremy, who was still standing near the door, shook his head, waiting for an explanation.
