S3| 150. The Enemy is Coming
“Emily, can you stop holding me? I’m starting to sweat because you’re clinging all the time.” Louis loosened his bow tie.
Hearing the whisper, Emily pouted. Her hand was reluctant to let go of Louis’ arm.
“I’m scared, Louis. We don’t know who the criminal is. He could be near us.” Her eyebrows hoped for pity.
“I know it, but we are with a lot of people here, and there are a lot of guards. What are you afraid of?”
Emily glanced around. All the waiters were lined up. Their faces were full of wrinkles, especially when Frank and Jeremy approached.
On the other side, people sat with the same expressions. They put their hands together, praying. Someone had held a waiter in the janitor’s room and robbed him of his uniform. They hoped that the bad guy would be caught quickly.
There was only one person who couldn’t stop nagging-the bride
“How could we have missed it? Was the security team not properly? The monitoring team should also not be careless. If necessary, they should not blink when watching CCTV.”

Philip rubbed his wife’s back. “Be patient, Baby. If you keep ge angry, your makeup will be ruined.”
“I should be in the dressing room, Phil. I should be putting on the second dress and fixing my make-up. At this rate, the results migh not be optimal because the time is limited.”
“You’re right, but we need to ensure safety first.”

Philip’s voice was gentle. However, Barbara still replied in an angry tone. “But the party will start soon, Phil. Guests will arrive and see me like this?” She raised an eyebrow and pointed at herself.
Understanding his wife’s anxiety, Philip approached Frank and Jeremy. While they were discussing, someone came with news, “Sir, several guests have arrived. What should we do?”
“See? The guests have arrived and I still haven’t gotten ready. Why is something like this happening at my wedding?” Barbara slammed her fist into her dress. Her tears started to thicken.
Frank sighed heavily at the complaint. He returned to face Philip, Jeremy, and the person in charge of the WO.
“The food has been guaranteed to be safe, right?”
The person in charge nodded. “That’s right, Sir. The kitchen is monitored by CCTV from all sides. Only those who have access can enter and through CCTV monitoring, no strangers entered the kitchen.”
Frank nodded. “What about the dressing room?”
“Unfortunately, there are no cameras in the dressing room. But from the CCTV outside, no strangers passed there. Only the make-up team wardrobe team, and janitor.”
“Janitor?” Frank’s eyes narrowed.
“Yes, Sir. We want the dressing room to be cleaned after every use, even if it’s just one session. We always prioritize the comfort of our
clients.”
Frank exchanged glances with Philip and Jeremy. “Then, I think it’s no problem if Barbara gets ready and the guests come in. We just need to make sure the ballroom and access to the dressing rooms are
clear. The security team can do the search from here.”

Philip nodded. “I agree. We can’t possibly keep the guests waiting. They might get offended and Barbara might throw a tantrum.”
“Then go. We can handle things here.” Jeremy patted Philip’s shoulder.
Together with several bodyguards, Philip accompanied Barbara to the dressing room. The waiters continued their work, while the guests were invited to enter. When they came, the twins were wide-eyed.
“Hailey?”
Melanie turned with a high arched eyebrow. “You guys know Hailey?”
“Yes, Auntie told us about Hailey several times. She is her mortal enemy.”
Melanie’s eyes widened even more. “Enemies? Aren’t they friends? She’s my friend’s daughter.”
“Their friendship is fake, Grandma. A friend won’t be jealous if her friend is successful. Hailey always wants to win over Auntie.” Emily pursed her lips with narrowed eyes.
“Yes, Emily is right. She’s tried to bad-mouth Auntie several times front of her other friends. She’s not a good friend. Their relationship i more like a rivalry.” Louis nodded with a serious expression.
Meanwhile, Hailey had led her friends, stopping in front of Frank. The smiles on their faces seemed flirtatious.
“Good evening, Mr. Harper. It is truly an honor to attend this event and meet you in person.”
Frank smiled politely. Before he could speak, Hailey held out her hand.
“Let me introduce myself, Sir. I’m Hailey, Barbara’s best friend. We’ve
been friends since we were babies.”

Frank and Jeremy glanced at each other. Seeing Jeremy’s
amusement, Frank snorted slightly. However, he still greeted the girl who was trying to steal his attention.
“Thank you for coming.”
Hailey interrupted with laughter this time. “Oh, God….” She fanned her face. Her glances circulated to her friends who couldn’t take their eyes off Frank. “I never thought that I could shake hands with Frank Harper.”
“You’re very lucky. I also want to shake hands with a man as handsome as him. But I’m afraid he will reject me.”
Seeing the girls whispering, Jeremy became even more amused. Frank could only blink expressionlessly.
Luckily, Melanie came in time. She gave Frank a chance to escape from the girls.
“Hello, Hailey. Long time no see.” Melanie held Hailey’s shoulders, pressing their cheeks together.
“Hello, Mrs. Harris. Long time no see,” Hailey replied with a faint smile. She remembered that the woman was “crazy”. She was a litt disgusted by her touch.
“You came with your friends? Why not bring your mother?”
Smiling modestly, Hailey shrugged her shoulders. “Mom is too busy as usual. She’s just opened a restaurant. So, there’s a lot to do. How are you, Mrs. Harris? Are you … okay?”
Melanie nodded, ignoring the insult tucked between the final words.
“Of course I’m okay. My son is Frank Harper. What can’t he do? Just looking at him makes your eyes clear, doesn’t it? Your chaotic mind could instantly become calm. Barbara is truly lucky to have such a
