Nova's feelings were never a mystery to Casper. It wasn't that he hadn't thought about marrying her. It's just that now... his desire wasn't as strong.
"It's getting late; you should get some rest," he said, standing up and heading upstairs.
After being ignored so many times, Nova couldn't help but start doubting Casper. Did he not like her anymore? Did he have feelings for Eliza?
No. Nova wouldn't let that happen.
The next day at the office, Molly handed Nova a stack of recent design drafts from everyone. "Ms. Nova, you'll be in charge of selecting the best designs."
Nova smiled as she took the thick pile of papers. "Alright, Molly, I'll make sure to pick out the best ones."
These drafts were submissions from the design department. Each person had submitted several.
Nova pulled out Eliza's drafts and tossed them into the trash bin. Then, she randomly selected a few others and handed them to Faithe.
Faithe quickly delivered the designs to Casper. He frowned deeply as he looked over the uninspired drafts. "What is this?"
"Ms. Nova carefully selected these."
"This is her idea of a careful selection? If this is the level of our design department, we need a new team." Casper tossed the drafts onto his desk and massaged his temples in frustration.
Faithe picked up a draft and took a closer look. She often interacted with the design department and knew these weren't their best work. Glancing at the signatures, she saw that most were from recent interns. Could there have been a mistake?
"Maybe Ms. Nova overlooked some. I'll call her to clarify."
Faithe returned to her desk and dialed Nova's number. "Ms. Nova, Mr. Casper is very unhappy with your submitted designs. Could there have been a mistake?"
