His Destructive, Toxic Love novel Chapter 378

Does she blame David?

No, she doesn’t blame him.

She believes that once he cools down, he’ll reflect on his actions.

Sliding into Casper's car, Eliza was quiet for a while before slowly asking, "How did you end up at the hospital?"

"I was worried about you." He hadn’t been able to eat anything at home. "Did Carter pass away?"

"Yeah, our teacher is gone. That’s why David lost control." She could understand David’s feelings; the pain of losing a loved one was something she could empathize with. "He was just talking nonsense."

Some of the things David said indeed left Casper baffled.

But were they really just nonsense?

Casper didn't ask Eliza; he figured even if he did, she’d come up with some excuse.

The truth, he had to find out on his own.

"He wanted to turn the pretense into reality, and you refused, so he lost it."

"You... how did you know my engagement to him was fake?" Eliza was slightly surprised.

She didn’t think she was acting that poorly, and David did like her. How did this man see through it?

"Is it that hard to guess? Whether someone loves another, you can see it in their eyes."

Eliza didn’t have the energy to dig into this right now. "Just take me home."

"Okay."

...

A few days later, Caleb's plane landed in Falconridge.

Casper personally came to pick him up.

"Dr. Caleb, welcome back."

Caleb grinned and gave Casper a big hug. "Calling me doctor makes me feel a bit guilty."

"Back then, you were so adamant about studying medicine. I never thought I’d end up needing your help."

Caleb had already heard about Casper's condition from Dillon.

There aren’t really good ways to treat amnesia.

Either electroshock therapy or surgery.
