His Destructive, Toxic Love novel Chapter 515

"That's just not possible." He pulled her close, holding her waist tight against him, "You know that's not me."

"I don't know," she shot back, baffled by his audacity, "Casper, I have no idea how many women you've been with, but you sure do. Shameless."

"You're the only one for me."

Casper had said this before.

But Eliza wasn't buying it.

"I'm not a three-year-old."

"Then you must be four," he teased with a soft chuckle, his fingers gently combing through her hair. His lips brushed her ear, gently nibbling on her earlobe, "Baby, I'm being honest. I know I messed up, can you forgive me just this once?"

She knew he’d been set up, that woman had just shown up at the perfect time.

His words were cheesy, but Eliza felt her resolve melting.

"So, you were upset because I didn't introduce you to my colleagues as my partner today?"

"A little," he admitted candidly.

Eliza thought about it.

In the past, with Casper's fiery temper, he would've blown up right then and there.

That he ended up sulking with a drink instead, well... that was something for him.

"We agreed to start over, and that's going to take time," she said, unsure if they'd ever reach that final day, "...you understand, right? I still have to live and work in Oak Falls."

He got her uncertainty about the future.

But... since they were starting fresh, he had no plans to let go of her.

"So, how long do you need to figure me out? What do I have to do to prove myself, to find my way back into your heart?"

He needed an answer, desperately.

His arms wrapped tighter around her waist, his breath warm against her nose, gentle and tender.
