His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) novel Chapter 277

Thaddeus' heart pounded furiously, his gaze on Evadne softer than it had ever been before.

Yet her sharp words, laced with coldness, pierced through his heart like an icy blade. His gaze became blurry as he stared into her eyes filled with deep affection.

"Master!"

Camille's face was a mask of confusion upon seeing Evadne. She had a million questions swirling in her mind, yet she found herself unable to voice any of them.

"Thaddeus, why are you here?" Evadne asked with a detached tone.

Seeing the lack of any affection in her demeanor, as if their shared past and near-death experience meant nothing, Thaddeus' heart sank. Nevertheless, he replied sincerely, "I came to see you."

"Cut the crap. Do you even believe your own words?" A mocking smile formed on Evadne's lips, completely disregarding Thaddeus.

Thaddeus was speechless.

"That's enough. You've seen her, now leave." Camille, clearly annoyed, ordered him away.

She was disgusted by this man, who had been entangled with a gold-digging woman before. Now that the gold-digger was out of the picture, he was attempting to make a comeback. His presence alone felt like a stain on their place.

"I'm not leaving." Thaddeus' eyes were determined.

"Do you want me to beat you out with a baseball bat?" Camille was usually an ice queen in public, but when it came to defending her loved ones, her fiery temper flared up.

"Eve."

Ignoring Camille, Thaddeus only had eyes for Evadne, "I have something to say to you."

Evadne's heart clenched as she locked eyes with him.

Eve?

Was he calling her?

During their three years of marriage, he had always called her by her full name, sometimes even skipping the name entirely and going straight to the point.

Gordon was stunned, but he was happy for Thaddeus!

Finally, his boss had a change of heart!

"Hey, watch your mouth. You're divorced now and my master clearly doesn't want to interact with you. You should call her Ms. Evadne.”

"Say what you need to say."

Evadne coldly gave the order and turned to leave.

Thaddeus felt as if he had been blessed by the heavens. Despite trying to keep his emotions in check, he couldn't hide his delight. He followed her without a second thought.

Gordon was grinning from ear to ear. He enjoyed watching Thaddeus making an effort to win his wife back.

Seeing that she couldn't stop him, Camille could only vent her frustration on Gordon, shooting him a death glare. "Wait outside. No one related to Thaddeus is allowed in!"

Thaddeus quickly caught up with Evadne.

But Evadne never once turned to look at him. He was no longer the center of her world.

But, it was okay.

Her decision to let him stay today indicated that his efforts had been acknowledged. However slightly, he would seize any opportunity, no matter how small!

He had let her go during their three years of marriage.

Now, he was going to win her back!

As they approached the door to the studio, Evadne suddenly halted but didn't turn around.

"Eve."

"Who gave you the right to call me that?"

Evadne slowly turned to look at the flustered man behind her. Her gaze was icy cold, not a hint of friendliness in sight. "You may not find it weird, but I find it disgusting."

"I just don't want us to be so distant." Thaddeus' heart skipped a beat. He didn't understand why she was upset.

He wasn't good at comforting people. The man who was decisive and eloquent in business and international conferences was, at this moment, at a loss for words in front of the woman he loved.

"Please, Mr. Thaddeus, don't call me that. It makes me feel like I'm on par with some cheap women, and it's an insult to my dignity." Evadne's gaze was sharp and icy cold.

Thaddeus' lips tightened, and a piercing pain shot through his throat.

He realized that the hurt he had caused her hadn't faded. In fact, it was as deep-seated as when they had just divorced.

She wasn't considering forgiving him. Instead, she clung onto any traces of their past and magnified them.

"Evadne, when I call you that, it has nothing to do with anyone else." Thaddeus tried to explain, his mouth dry.

"That's enough."

Evadne opened the door, cutting him off coldly. "Don't overthink it. I only brought you here because I know you. If I didn't let you do what you came here for today, you wouldn't leave. I just didn't want to cause trouble for Camille."

Thaddeus looked at Evadne's lonely figure, his expression turning gloomy.

She had brought him into her studio for one reason: Myra's birthday was coming up. As she was busy during the day, she only had time to work on the dress in the evening. She had to make every second count.

Evadne picked up a jade hairpin from the table and skillfully tied her silky hair into a bun.

Thaddeus' gaze softened as he watched her. His fingertips twitched slightly.

Her hair was thick, and silky, inviting him to touch.

He remembered the nights they had spent together during their honeymoon. Evadne wasn't a quiet sleeper, and her hair often spilled onto his side of the bed. Fearing that he would tug on her hair, he had carefully combed them away.

A wave of sorrow washed over him, his eyes reddening silently.
