Right on the dot at 7, K Orld Hotel.
In stark contrast to the quietude at Elspeth's place, this place was buzzing with life!
The hotel's frontage was adorned with luxury cars, belonging to wealthy families and renowned figures from the industry. Each person was dressed to the nines, adorned in jewelry, and worth billions - a gathering of tycoons and elite ladies.
Despite Emeric's decision to keep Myra's birthday bash low-key at her request, the Ashbourne family's reputation was not to be taken lightly. They had a burgeoning interest in developing in Elmsworth, and who among the respected figures wouldn't give Emeric some face?
Moreover, the big-shot also had a daughter who was enjoying remarkable fame lately!
Tonight, to avoid overshadowing Myra, Suri and Aviana didn't show up in the main hall but were entertaining their longtime friends upstairs.
They didn't feel left out, rather they were elated to have such a rare, relaxed moment.
Outside the hall, as Myra's only daughter, Nydia was naturally busy helping her sister greet the guests.
She was wearing a light yellow chiffon evening gown that Evadne had personally chosen for her. Her slender, white legs were faintly visible beneath the soft yellow skirt, sparkling dreamily, making her look as beautiful as a leading lady in a romance novel.
She was truly grateful to her sister, knowing that Evadne had put a lot of thought into her outfit.
And yet, she couldn't help but feel that Evadne, despite not trying hard to dress up and only wearing a modest, off-shoulder black gown, was still out of her league.
Nydia stole glances at Evadne, completely mesmerized.
"Nydia, is there something on my face?" Evadne asked, fluttering her almond-shaped eyes at her sister, who was standing there, dumbstruck.
"No. No." Nydia flushed inexplicably.
"Are you tired? The party isn't starting for a while. I can get you a room upstairs if you want to rest."
"No need, Evadne. I'm not tired!" Nydia quickly shook her head.
"Miss Evadne, the young masters from the Chambers Group have arrived!"
Jason, who had been greeting guests outside, rushed in, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Seeing this, Nydia hurriedly pulled out a handkerchief from her evening bag, tightly clenching it in her hand but not daring to approach him.
"Jason, look at you. You're all sweaty."
Evadne gave a meaningful smile, placing her delicate hand on Nydia's slim waist, and nudged her forward, "Nydia, you have a handkerchief here, go and help Jason wipe his sweat."
Both Jason and Nydia were taken aback, their cheeks instantly flushing.
Nydia, clutching the handkerchief, awkwardly approached Jason.
She gathered her courage, raised her hand to wipe his forehead.
He quickly grabbed the handkerchief and hurriedly wiped his sweat, his heartbeat accelerating, "No need, Ms. Nydia, thank you."
"No, it's okay." Nydia bit her lips, feeling a wave of disappointment.
"Your handkerchief is dirty. I'll buy you a new one later." Jason said, looking embarrassed as he pocketed her handkerchief.
"No need. Consider it a gift." Nydia said, forcing a smile.
Nydia smiled shyly.
"Please come in. Jason, please escort the young masters and lady of the Chambers family inside." Evadne instructed with a smile.
"Yes, Miss Evadne."
After the Chambers family left, Jason quickly returned to Evadne's side, whispering,
"Miss Evadne, may I have a word?"
Evadne and Jason moved to a quiet corner of the corridor.
"Miss Evadne, Matthew's lover, the one who humiliated Ms. Nydia that night, has shown up! She even has an invitation and has already made her way to the private area!"
With a furrowed brow, Jason asked in a deep voice, "Should I have her thrown out right away?"
"Thrown out? Why bother, she's got an invitation. We don't want to seem like we can't handle a little drama, do we?" Evadne leaned against the wall, her porcelain-like arms crossed over her chest, her beauty comparable to a finely crafted sculpture.
"That's odd! I personally checked every invitation that was sent out, no mistakes, one per person! How could that woman possibly have one?" Jason was perplexed.
"Oh, because I gave her the invitation."
Jason gasped, "Miss Evadne, what did you say?"
"I said, it's me, I invited that woman called Mia."
The curve of Evadne's lips was as beautiful as a crescent moon, but her eyes sparkled with a fox-like cunning. "There's no better time than tonight to get some payback for my sister."
