Chapter 20
The scene was silent, with only a dead silence.
Lennon and Kiara, sitting at the front, had darkened faces. Their canes thudded heavily on the
ground, capturing everyone’s attention.
“Branden, Braxton, Deven, the three of you better explain to me what exactly happened?!”
With a bang, Sir Marquez threw the teacup he was holding onto the ground, instantly shattering it into pieces.
The three of them immediately knelt down upon hearing the sound, their faces turning pale one
after another, clearly indicating that their condition was not good.
“Grandfather, it’s my fault. I did something wrong, but I really didn’t want to marry Violet!”
“She deceived us, that’s why we said we liked her, treated her well, and refused to marry Lilyana… my cousin. But now I have realized, I want to be free from the engagement, spare me from marrying someone of low character!”
Branden spoke decisively, with a determined expression.
Braxton then added, “Just like Branden, I never liked Violet, and I never will. I won’t marry her in the future, and it’s impossible. Please, grandparents, cancel this marriage arrangement!”
“I feel the same way. A loveless marriage holds no meaning for me. If I have to spend my whole life with someone I don’t love, then I would rather spend my entire life wandering outside and never
come back.”
Deven also persisted.
After listening to their words, Kiara simply laughed coldly.
“Is this what you thought?”
“Yes,” the three of them said in unison.
“I am really disappointed,” Kiara sighed deeply and shook her head.
“If it weren’t for Graham, when would you have found out that Lilyana saved you all those years ago?”
“Have you diligently investigated? Have you believed Lilyana’s explanation? None of you have! If it were solely up to you, I’m afraid you would still be in the dark!”
This sentence hit the three of them hard, their faces turned pale as paper, and they had no ability to

argue back at all.
Because what she said was all correct.
If Uncle hadn’t handed over the evidence to them, they might have continued to believe Violet.
Under Violet’s instigation, they hurt Lilyana too many times.
Even the words of trying to salvage and beg for Lilyana’s forgiveness became particularly feeble and powerless.
After all, those things were all done by them personally.
Many onlookers of the Marquez family were whispering and pointing.
“Yeah, those little tricks of Violet’s, only those three boys couldn’t figure them out. I advised them so many times, but they didn’t listen, stubbornly believing in themselves.”
“Sure enough, the three of them couldn’t compare to Graham, their abilities were barely catching up, but they really couldn’t judge people well.”
