Chapter 4
The tall Tyrell saw something and without saying a word, he abandoned me and disappeared
instantly.
Ten minutes later, following a series of tinkling laughter, I saw Lucia wearing a flower crown in the backyard of the old house.
She was being carefully supported by Tyrell as they played the childish game of tiptoeing across the wooden bridge.
“Tyrell, you must hold on tight… Ah, brother, help me!”
As she was playing, Lucia slipped and fell into the man’s chest, her face turning red.
The two of them were initially stunned, but then they exchanged a knowing smile.
The smile in Tyrell’s eyes vanished as soon as he noticed me.
“Huh? Lailah, how did you end up
here?”
Lucia looked at me innocently, blinked a few times, and then started softly punching the man’s chest with her small fists, saying, “Oh, I know now. Bad brother finally decided to bring the ugly
daughter–in–law home to meet the parents.”
“Congratulations, Lailah.”
She said her blessings with her mouth, but her tone was tinged with a sob, which made Tyrell purse his lips and feel heartache. “It’s just a meal, there’s nothing to congratulate about, you silly little
fool.”
After comforting Lucia, the man looked at me with an extremely indifferent expression and asked, “Is dinner ready?”
Without waiting for me to speak, dozens of long snakes, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, suddenly dropped from the treetops above, catching me off guard.
As I was startled and fell to the ground, Lucia let out a piercing scream.
Seeing the situation, Tyrell didn’t even look at me and quickly hugged Lucia tigh escaped.
then hurriedly
The man only remembered me when the forestry personnel came to catch the snake.
He returned to the tree, searching left and right, only to be informed by the security guard at the gate that I had already left.
Chapter 1
1/3
Late at night, in the airport waiting hall.
As I waited to board, my phone kept vibrating non–stop.
I didn’t press the answer button until the last minute before takeoff.
As soon as the phone was answered, Tyrell urgently questioned me, asking where exactly I was.
Obviously, he returned home and found it empty.
I did not give him a direct answer, only saying, “It’s none of your business.”
He paused for a moment, his tone tinged with a hint of annoyance, “It’s not good for the baby when pregnant women have temper tantrums.”
Stop being willful.
