His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 346

Susy never once thought she was unworthy of Julian, nor did she believe she was in any way inferior to Niamh.

What did Niamh have besides a pretty face, anyway?

Was she born into privilege, with a family name that opened doors?

Did she have the money to throw around, living as lavishly as a heiress?

Did she have the kind of business connections that could turn a handshake into a fortune?

What could Niamh possibly have to compete with her?

In Susy’s eyes, Julian’s runaway wedding was entirely Niamh’s doing.

Jonathan had Marina now, and there was no doubt he’d divorce Niamh.

Niamh, desperate for a meal ticket after her inevitable divorce, had seduced Julian and ruined Susy’s wedding.

Maybe she had nothing else, but Niamh was a master at playing the siren.

The more Susy dwelled on it, the angrier she became, her jaw clenched tight with hatred.

“Ms. Fraser, please—show some mercy, give Niamh a chance! Jonathan’s already kicked her out, she’s broke, and if she loses this job too, I’m afraid the only thing left for her is begging on the street.”

Marina, with her affected sweetness, kept shooting Susy pleading looks.

Susy forced herself to stay calm, tamping down the fire in her chest.

“So, what do you suggest?”

“What else can we do? Let Niamh keep her job. And don’t drag the front desk manager into this mess, either...”

Marina sounded so reasonable, so full of concern.

Susy called Alfven over for a private word, gave him a few terse instructions, then headed to the dining hall with Marina.

They’d originally reserved a private room.

Meanwhile, Alfven pulled Niamh aside into a shadowy corner, all but begging her not to quit. If she left, he knew his own job would be next on the chopping block.

Niamh understood perfectly: as long as she worked even one more day as a waitress in this hotel, Susy—the boss—would have endless opportunities to make her life hell.

“Please, Niamh, I’m begging you,” Alfven pleaded, nearly in tears. “Your contract’s only got a month left. If you stick it out, Ms. Fraser won’t stop you from leaving. But if you quit now, I’m finished. I’ve got a mortgage, car payments, and my son’s daycare just raised their rates. I can’t afford to lose this job!”
