Xavier's POV

I saw her running figure. She was crying hysterically. She was running away from me. That's exactly what I needed. I will not let her pass my walls.

It took me a very long time to build them. And I was not going to let her in. She was already slowly breaking those walls, without my knowledge.

And that scared me. Every time I yelled at her, because I was afraid of letting her in. I can't have her in my life. Not in my heart.

The first time I saw her, I was mesmerized by her beauty. But when I realised she was human, something in me snapped.

I didn't want to have a human as a mate. Not as a Luna Queen. Humans were weak. That was my mindset. It always has been. But deep down, I knew she was perfect.

But I blamed it on the mate bond. My wolf was pissed at me, for how I treated our mate. But I couldn't be bothered.

After the ball, the next day, my wolf went on a rampage tearing the palace down. Nathan and his mate tried to calm him down, but he wouldn't listen.

He went on a run at the woods. That's when we smelled our mate. Without listening to me, he went after the scent. That's when we saw that she was in danger because of a rogue.

He was about to safe her, when she did something that was unbelievable. As the rogue was about to attack her, she dodged and side kicked him with such quick reflex. We were both shocked.

Soon she ran as the rogue chased. My wolf started chasing the rogue. What he saw made him furious. The rogue was on top of her and was about to bite her neck off.

He quickly pounced on him, and start fighting with it. With one swift move, he ripped its head off. We were staring down at the dead body.

We didn't realise she has run off. I quickly changed into my human from and wear pants that was nearby. I tried to follow her scent but it was useless. Her scent was gone.

Frustrated I went back to the palace. Everyone asked me what happened to make my wolf go on a rampage but I didn't bother to reply.

The next day, they had called the Elders and I had to tell them what happened. Hearing this, the Elders was furious at me. They told me how important right now it was, for a Luna Queen.

I had to agree. With the war against the witches, we needed the power that can only be given off by the Luna Queen. I sighed and told them everything I know.

What I didn't realise was that she was Nathan's sister. To say he was pissed when he heard this would be an understatement. He wouldn't talk to me for days. But he was my only friend.

When she came to the throne room, her scent drove both my wolf and me insane and I didn't like the effect she had on me. So I had to say those harsh words.

Once, after my run, I was walking by the kitchen to saw her hiding behind Angela, Nathan's mate. She was afraid of me. I scoffed knowing that she is scared of me. Of course she will be scared of me.

I am a monster after all.

At the coronation Day, when I first saw her, she took my breathe away with her beauty. I quickly turn away, not wanting to be mesmerized by her.

She wore the same dress that my mum had worn for her coronation. I remember her telling me about it. My mum. I wished she was here. But no. She rather wallow in her own misery.

The moment I marked her, I felt the need of her. And I absolutely hated that. That was why, I had gone to her room, and said those hurtful words.
