His Knees, His Pleas, But Our Son's in Peace novel Chapter 96

Chapter 96

Blood was everywhere as Sienna hit the ground with a heavy thud. Her body was bent in strange ways, and a dark red puddle formed around her. I stood still, almost frozen, unable to move. It felt like time had slowed down. Seeing her like that, broken and covered in blood, sent a cold shock through me. I couldn’t think or reactit was too much to take in.

The car started up again and slammed into Sienna on the ground. this time she had been knocked out of sight in an instant, her body flying through the air. I stood frozen, staring at the bloody scene in front of me. Carlos quickly stepped in, holding his jacket up to block my view. Don’t look,he said gently, trying to shield me.[

He could see the shock on my face, the way my eyes were glued to the horror unfolding just a few feet away. His jacket blocked my view, but I could still feel the heavy air filled with tension and dread. I could sense the urgency in his tone, the worry that I might lose myself in the chaos. Please,he urged, his expression softening as he searched my eyes. I know it’s hard, but you don’t need to see this.

He looked at me, his expression serious. I’m here for you, Doris. I just want to protect you from this.

I know,I replied, trying to hold back tears. It’s just so overwhelming.Stay with me,he said firmly. I won’t let you fall apart.”

I nodded but could not say anything because

was still tense and my mind was racing. Then, the familiar scent of Carloscologne hit me, and I found myself relaxing just a bit, enough to take a deep breath. It was a small comfort in the chaos around us.

I’m not some fragile flower, you know,I told him, stepping around to look in the direction where Sienna had flown.

forced myself to be calm. It was her choice,I added coldly. My heart should have been racing, but instead, I felt something elsesomething like justice finally catching up.[

Just then, an old memory flashed in my mind, one I hadn’t thought about in years. I was a little girl, holding my favorite doll, which had golden hair and a pink dress. Sienna walked in with a look in her eyes that made me uneasy. Suddenly, she grabbed my doll and tore its head off. I screamed and ran to my mother and Nathan, hoping they would help me.[

But Sienna, always good at pretending and acting, put on a sweet smile. I didn’t do it,she said, looking innocent. Then

she added, And if I did, let me get hit by a car and fly out of the house. She said it like it didn’t matter at all. Everyone believed her, and I stood there with my broken doll, feeling small and ignored while they chose to trust her instead of me.[

Now, her words had come true, and it felt like a strange kind of justice had finally caught up with her

It felt strange to think about how much had changed since that day. I was no longer the scared little girl holding a broken doll, hoping for help

Just then Carlos glanced at me, his eyes filled with concern. Driver, get the hell out of here,he barked, sending the car speeding off. He turned back to me, softer this time. Doris, you should rest. You’ve been through enough.”

But I shook my head. I can’t rest. I have too many responsibilities right now.Rest was a luxury I couldn’t afford. He looked at me with something like admiration in his eyes. You’re strong,he said. I’ll support you.[

Later, I met with the technicians. I handed over the information I’d gathered the day before. We worked through the details after analyzing every bit of data. It took hours, but we finally came up with a solution. It wasn’t just a theory anymore; we were ready to test it in practice
