Chapter 184
“She so happy. I really wonder where she got it from.” I smiled as I looked at the smile on her face. She seemed so cheerful and peaceful.
“She has it from you.”
“Me?”.
I was anything but cheerful and peaceful. If anything, I was a bit annoying at times and wasn’t ashamed to admit it. “Yes, you might not realize it-but the two of you are so much alike.”
“Are we?”
“Yes,” Christian spoke. “Now go and take a shower.”
He got up from the bed and walked away as he held Siena in his arms. “Come on, move it!”
“Yes, yes.” I rolled my eyes. Sometimes his demands were getting on my last nerves. “And don’t come down until I come and get you!”
He slammed the door shut and left me behind, flustered. I was really curious about what this surprise was going to be, but felt grateful enough to know that I was even getting one.
I followed Christian’s instructions and took a shower before I put on the outfit he prepared for me. Whatever he planned seemed to be serious, because it was so hot I was almost dying of the heat.
One thing was for sure. He wasn’t taking me to a fancy place. It had to be outdoors. Would he take us on a picnic? I smiled at the idea of going on a picnic as a family and took my time to do my hair and makeup.
Looking presentable was the least I could do.
It took me about an hour, and I was already finished, but Christian was still out of sight. Did he forget about me?
My eyes moved to his phone on the nightstand, and even if it was just for a second, my heart had stopped beating.
Did he see the way I looked at Dario?
Was he testing me?
Would he take me to a lie detector test center? Was that my gift?
Why would he even leave his phone on the nightstand?
Should I take a look?
No, Serena-you are not that kind of person, I told myself as I closed my eyes, so I did not have to face the phone.
It was time to stop lying to myself. I was that kind of person.
I opened my eyes and took a deep breath as I made my way to the nightstand and grabbed Christian’s phone. He gave me free access to look through it, and I would make good use out of it.
Unlocking his phone was not that difficult because I figured his password must’ve been something basic like Siena’s birth date, and I was correct. I had no time to waste and went through his search history.
Why is my baby laughing at nothing?”
“Why is my baby pooping so much?”
“When do babies start talking!
“When do babies say mama and dada?” When
“Can babies crawl at five months?”

I couldn’t hold back my laughter and cracked up at his search history. It was definitely different from what I had imagined but innocent and cute.
I moved over to his messages and automatically went to the name on the top, which was Dario’s.
Christian
Are you on your way?
Dario
Yes
Be there soon!
So Dario was coming over today? I ignored the feeling of my beating heart and quickly moved on to the following conversation, which was with Beau.
Beau
So I looked into Carmen’s little friend
Christian
Did you?
Just let them be
Beau
I can’t
Christian
Idiot
Just don’t forget about tomorrow
Beau
How can I?
It’s all Isobel’s been talking about
“What’s going on today?” I whispered to myself. I thought today would be ‘Serena day and that Christian and I would do something together, but apparently not. Perhaps it was a double date, just like the last time?
I let a sigh escape from my mouth and moved on to the following chat. I did not know what I expected to find on why I was so insecure, but there wasn’t much going on.
Gio
I love you, little brother
Christian
?
Gio
When can you and Serena watch the kids?
I laughed out loud at Gio’s bold question and didn’t notice any footsteps. The door suddenly opened, and I did not know how fast to hide the phone behind my back. “I’m back-” Christian stopped in his steps. His eyes shifted from the nightstand to my hands which were behind my back.
“Were you going through my phone?” He asked. He could probably read the worry on my face as I thought of several ways to deny his accusation, but I couldn’t do it. “Yes?”
“Okay?” Christian responded. I stared at him with a fearful look in my eyes, but all those feelings disappeared when he laughed at me. I let out a relieved sigh and joined him. “I’m so sorry. It was there and-
Christian ignored my words and pulled me into a hug. “I don’t care. I have nothing to hide from you, and whatever’s mine is also yours-now let’s go.”
I was shocked by his sudden words, but before I could say anything, he covered my eyes with a blindfold. “What’s the meaning of this?” I nervously laughed. “What are you doing?”
“What do you mean?” Christian spoke, sarcastic. “As you can see, I’m blindfolding you?”
“Blindfolding?”
“Yes, blindfolding?” I heard Christian’s voice near my ear. “I didn’t know you were into that kind of stuff.” 1 teased him, but Christian took my words seriously and leaned his head over my shoulder.
“Are you into that kind of stuff?”
“I don’t know, am I?” I spoke, confused. It was something I hadn’t even figured out yet. “Come on, let’s go.”
Christian placed his hand behind my back and led me out of the room while I was scared for my life. “I’m not going to push you down the stairs. Stop overreacting.” Christian sighed, annoyed.
“I don’t like the dark!” I reminded Christian. “You know that!”
You know, you’re worse than Siena.” Christian complained before he threw me over his shoulder with ease. “What are you doing?”
“I’m carrying you.”
