Chapter 381
Vincenzo
Fabio High School Diary 2-
This week has been a disaster.
On my way home from school, I got stalked by the transfer student. I’ll call her Snooper.
To make matters worse, it turns out she’s my neighbor, and no matter how hard I try, I just can’t run away from her.
I thought she was just joking around about marrying me, but her parents are one of the most influential people in town, and if there’s something dad loves even more than his Mustang, it’s money.
Please keep me in your prayers!!!
I’ll need them!!!
“Well, dad,” I mumbled, closing the book. “Turns out our life isn’t that different after all.”
The Snooper figure in his diary reminded me an awful lot of my wife.
I would love to have read further, but the loud cries from downstairs stopped me from doing so.
Only one person had a baby, and that was none other than Livia. The confusing woman who would one day decide to be friendly, and the other, treat me with a cold shoulder.
Having nothing better to do, I went downstairs to tease the woman for a bit.
With a worried expression, she tried to shush Dace while an uncomfortable Luis stood beside her with his book in his hands.
“I’m sorry, he isn’t usually like this.” She struggled with the bottle in her hands.
I stopped in my steps, wondering whether it would be okay to tease a mother who was clearly having a hard time.
Fuck it.
It was just, Livia.
“Hey, hey!” I ran down the stairs, shaking my head disapprovingly. “Why is this random baby disturbing my peace?”
Luis chuckled, begging me to stop teasing her with his pitiful look.
“Vince, I am so sorry!” Lívia apologized, rocking her baby. “I know I promised he wouldn’t be a problem, and usually he isn’t, but-”
“It’s a joke.” I would’ve loved to make her sweat for a bit longer, but for some reason, with her, I just couldn’t do it. My heart wouldn’t allow it.
I stretched my arms to offer help and grabbed the baby from her hands. “We don’t cry in this house.” My eyes moved to the cute little pout on his lips as he was seconds away from waking the city.
“Only laughing is allowed.”
Strangely enough, those words helped as Dace went into fits of laughter. He reached his tiny hands and scratched my nose.
“That’s impossible.” Livia gasped, as did Luis.
“It’s really not.” Knowing I had done something to impress her boosted my confidence. I had been trying to do that for a while now, and she was not an easy target. “Everyone likes me, isn’t that right, Dace?”
The joyful laugh coming from Livia’s mouth made my day. This strange feeling, I couldn’t quite describe
I guess she had been so judgmental. Her acceptance mattered to me.
“You should go ahead and help Luis. I’ll watch him.”
“W-What?” She frowned, touching her baby’s cheek. “Vince, you really don’t have to do that.”
“It’s not a problem, really,” I reassured her. “Dace and I, we understand each other.”
“I left his diaper bag in the hall. Here’s his bottle!” She pushed the item into my hand, not arguing any further.
It was either that or let Luis miss a day of tutoring, and I could not let that happen.
“Lord, I’m so embarrassed right now.” The woman facepalmed, hiding her flushed cheeks.
“Don’t be.” I shrugged. “Raising a child isn’t easy. I’ve practically raised Luis.”
Luis nodded, backing me up. “He did.” He said. “He’ll make a good dad one day.” I feared I might’ve given him the wrong impression about my intentions.
I wasn’t trying to hit on a woman with a 7-month baby. Impossible.
“Hmm, maybe.” Livia grinned, looking me up and down. She grabbed the books from Luis’ hands and placed her hand on his head. “Luis, let’s go.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Holding Dace in my hands, I looked as the two of them walked off. I had expected him to cry for his mother, but luckily that didn’t happen.
“So.” I faced little Dace. “What are you and I going to do?”
Watching Dace was easier than expected. All the maids melted at his cuteness, and he seemed to enjoy every bit of attention.
Admiring his adorable face, I could certainly tell he had many of his mother’s charms. Livia loved to pretend she wasn’t fond of me, but I wasn’t stupid and would always notice the slight smile on her beautiful face.
“No, no-that’s not it.” I whispered, shaking my head.
She was Luis’ teacher and a mom.
Besides, I already had-
“Vincey, Vince!”
A wife.
Sparing her an eye roll, I watched as Aria entered the living room with a bunch of shopping bags in her hand.
She loved to spend money, and I wasn’t going to be a hater and lie to myself. She looked good doing it.
Whenever she did, she had this glow that made her much more bearable.
Ever since we spent more time together, after she had forced herself to tag along-I realized she had a different side to her.
Our personalities were so different, but that only interested me even more. It was fascinating to see how her brain worked and how she always managed to turn everything into the Aria show.
It was cute even.
