“Serena, there you are!” Francesca waited for me at the bottom of the stairs while I walked down and trie“Becomes an Alfonzo, thinks she can let me wait—do you see that Emmanuella?” She asked Emmanuellapitiful smile. After telling Emmanuella the truth, well—she actually heard it because Christian and I were eshe finally realized why I asked her about the Alfonzo’s.
“I’m sorry!” I apologized and pulled the end of my dress. “What were you doing?” Stella asked me. AppaMia tagged along which was understandable, considering they organized the entire thing.
“Where is my brother, what were you guys doing?” Mia asked and looked around while Francesca shrugglooks a hot mess—it’s not that hard to guess, come on Serena we have a lot to discuss.”
Stella and Mia giggled while I walked after Francesca with my head lowered. This must’ve been why Chrilaughing, perhaps it would’ve been a smart idea to take a look in the mirror before I came down.
We sat in the living room and I watched as the three pulled out full maps with their ideas for the gender this thing a little bit too seriously while I told them to keep it small.
“Is this okay with…you know?” I questioned as the three gave me a confused look. I did not know how toFabio situation and did not want to say anything I shouldn’t.
“It is, don’t worry. No one is going to do anything stupid right now.” Francesca reassured me with a smilbefore she went back to showing me pictures.
It was surprising to me how easily she shrugged it off, but just like everyone had told me she had also saI did not have to worry for now. Over the past weeks, I had learned that staying out of Christian’s businesomething which he truly appreciated—but considering the circumstances, it became a lot more difficult“So what color are you guys going to wear?” I asked them as I scrolled through their to-do list. “We’re pare wearing a neutral color not to spoil anything,” Stella told me.
“Serena, a quick question because I’m really curious!” Mia grew an excited smile on her face. “What do yor a girl?”
“Hey!” Francesca yelled at her. “Don’t ask her that, if she reads the expression on your face then the whoruined.”
“She can just tell me, I took acting lessons last month—no big deal, Serena tell me!” She put her hands opushed me to talk.
“Stop scaring her.” I heard Christian say as he placed his hands on my shoulder. He kissed me on the cheway over to his mom before he joined her on the sofa. Francesca touched his hand and gave him a grateprobably because he was finally ready to let the past be the past.
“Chrissie, do you want a son or a daughter?” Mia asked Christian this time. He went into deep thoughts amy eyes with a warm smile on his face. “I want a daughter.”
My eyes immediately observed the twins to see if they would crack, but they didn’t. Even though I came idea, all I wanted was to find out what I was having and get it over with.
“A daughter?” Stella spoke in surprise, while the other two also looked at him in shock. He had already sbefore, and he still had the same opinion. “Yes, a daughter.
“And if you do get a daughter, you’ll allow her to date in the future?” She snickered. Christian shrugged “Yeah, why not.”
“Serena, don’t listen to a word he says—he had once threatened to kill my prom date!” Mia jumped in. Ssomething Christian would do.
“Out of love, it worked because you came back in one piece.” He did an attempt to defend his actions. “Ytore me apart,” Mia smirked while Christian scrunched up his nose.
“Stella, I really don’t have to know all of that.” Francesca sighed and pushed another map into her hands“I have to make a few more phone calls so I will leave you guys to it.” Christian got up from the couch aghimself. I bet the only reason why he came down here was to make sure Francesca was not giving me a hwas understandable after what happened with Enzo.
“Don’t overwork yourself, Chrissie!” Stella pouted, while I giggled at the familiar nickname. Chrissie.
“I feel like I have to say that to you.” He told his sister before he left the living room.
The three had already decided on a date and made a guest list while all I had to do was just sit back and thing I appreciated the most was that they didn’t attack me with questions about the Alfonzo’s but instenothing happened as all of it still felt very new to me, but even then Stella had no problem letting her op“That brat is just sixteen, three years younger than me but her mouth is so big—it just makes me want tohappy you’re my twin, Mia.” She spoke referring to Carmen while she wrote down her name. “Hey, it’s hewhispered, but all I could do was shrug my shoulders.
“Don’t worry about it, I actually think I agree.” I sighed, thinking about the treatment she gave me.
The three stayed for a while longer, and when they had left it was already past midnight. To be honest, I hthe time to pass and all I could think of was finding my way to Christian so he could finish what we had sall of this, I was just too tired.
Somehow I had managed to make my way up and noticed Christian was still in his office. I finally took a scleaned myself, which was well needed.
After I had changed I walked over to his office again but noticed that the lights were off so turned to his Just as I was about to knock he had also opened the door, making me bump into him.
“You need to stop doing that.” He sighed with a smile on his face. Even I could not count how many timealready happened before. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, I was just on my way to see you.” He wrapped his hands around my waist, while I looked downface. “See me?” I asked.
“Yes, stay with me tonight—come on.” He pulled me into his room and locked the door. “You look tired, for today.” He chuckled and dragged me to his bed.
“You know, I feel like I’m talking way too much and all you do is listen. Talk to me.” Christian pulled me bme to lay down. I instantly grew a smile on my face and caressed his cheek, thinking about how he becamone. “It’s nothing, I’m just extremely tired.” I yawned and rested my head against his chest.
“What did you think about your family?” He asked me as I yawned once again. “Nice people, except for m“That’s good.”
“What are your plans for tomorrow?” I asked him and tried my hardest to stay awake. “…I have some thinwon’t be home tomorrow.”
“Oh, that’s so sad.” I raised my head to look at his face before I snuggled against his neck. “It is.” Christiaback.
“I’ll let someone move your stuff to this room tomorrow.” He suddenly spoke. “T-to your room?”
“Our room.” He corrected me. “After the baby is born I want you to stay here, you me and the baby.”
Christian lowered his hand to my baby bump and rubbed circles over it. “Are you sure?” I wondered. I knone who wanted all of this, but him being nice would probably be a temporarily thing and it would only time before we would argue again.
Keeping promises wasn’t exactly his thing.
“Is this not what you wanted?” He asked and I immediately shook my head. He was right. This is what I wquestioning it would be a stupid thing. Instead I should just go with the flow. “No, no—this is exactly wh“Your head is so heavy, I don’t understand how it’s possible for a human head to be this heavy.” Christiato offend me. It was not possible for him to remain nice for long—but I was already used to it. “Hey!”
“What?” He chuckled. “It’s true though, you’re head is so heavy and it’s not like there are any brains insi—ow!” He yelped out in pain when I smacked his chest. “I-I’m sorry!” I apologized and looked at the engon my finger. Not the smartest idea to hit him with that.
“What about the ring?” I asked him and stared at the huge diamond around my finger. “What about it?”
“Well, it’s an engagement ring so…” I carefully tried to bring up the situation. “Wait, do you really want toChristian laughed in surprise, but I was being serious. “I mean…why not? We’ve already skipped a few steguess.”
“Are you so sure of yourself that all of this will work out?” I heard a hint of worry in his voice. Was he thethat all of this was going to work out?
“No, wait—I didn’t meant it like that. Don’t get me wrong, I want all of this to work out but we have to sstopped talking mid-sentence.
“I shouldn’t be pushing you like this and I’m fine with the way things are.” I tried to calm down the situawas expecting too much for now, he didn’t even tell me he loved me back.
“And one day, when you feel like it—you can go on one knee and ask me to marry you.”
“One knee!?” Christian spoke in surprise and gave me a startled look as I laughed at him. “Yes, one knee—proposal.”
“Hmm, we’ll see.”
“You’re tired, let’s have a good conversation tomorrow—just you and I.” He slowly cut of the conversatiothe marriage talk went a little too fast. “What? I don’t understand.”
He sighed and rested his hand in my hair as I felt my eyes close. “After I get back, let me take you on a ddate.”
“F-first date?” I asked to check if I had heard the right words. “Yes, let’s do one step at a time since we’veseveral.”
