Seeing the busy tone coming from her phone, Aria gritted her teeth, “I’d be a damn fool to believe another word that comes out- of Kane’s mouth!”

Aria returned to Moonrise Apartments after having dinner with her mother.

Kane came back very late, his coat hanging on his wrist. He untied his tie and stepped into the master bedroom, where the scene of the long–lost peaceful days greeted his eyes.

Aria sat in front of the dressing table in a bathrobe, applying moisturizer. She seemed to have just taken a bath, and the light silk robe accentuated her figure, with her long fluffy hair pinned up behind her.

A warm yellow light fell on her, beautiful in an unreal way.

Kane bent down and hugged her from behind, his scent wrapping around her. “Are you willing to stay in the master bedroom tonight?”

She glanced at him in the mirror. “It’s not like you won’t touch me if I sleep in the guest room.”

“You finally figured it out.”

His lips curled imperceptibly at the corner, buried in her neck and whispered in a low voice, “Go to the bathroom.”

She didn’t answer, and letting the man picked her up horizontally and stepped into the bathroom.

After getting back into bed, she didn’t want to move at all, letting Kane hold her as darkness surrounded them.

Aria slowly opened her eyes, facing away from Kane, and hoarsely said, “Aren’t you the one who didn’t want me to have your baby?”

The man behind her paused, looking at her for a long time. “We should get one.”

He said “should” instead of “want.”

Aria did not answer anymore.

What he didn’t know was that she had taken long–acting contraceptives.

She just sorted out.

Wasn’t he just lusting after her body?

In the remaining fourteen days, if that could relax his vigilance, even if he claimed her a few more times, it didn’t matter anyway–she didn’t lose anything.
