Lorie didn’t say anything more..
Aria hurried to Dr. Marcus’s office and ran into Dr. Marcus and Kane in the hallway. They were talking outside the door.
Dr. Marcus turned to look at Aria, said something and Kane slowly turned back to look at her.
She walked over. “Dr. Marcus, was there a misunderstanding about Hanna Marquez being fired?”
“Misunderstanding? Dr. Marcus paused, looking at Kane.
Kane loosened his tie. “She was there when you fell
“How did you know?”
“The deaner saw it.” Kane’s gaze fixed on her face.
Aria frowned.
For a moment she couldn’t tell who was telling the truth and who was lying.
But she only knew…
“I had no grudge with Hanna, she wouldn’t have pushed me ”
“Grudges don’t always build up over time, sometimes they happen in an instant,” he paused in front of Aria. “Worry about yourself more than others. Besides, she’s prejuring an just a year–letting her retire early isn’t a bad thing.”
Aria looked at him. “Kame, do you know what being fired moans? Hanna should have been able to retire peacefully, but now she’s been wrongly accused. How do you think the oriver people at the hospital will see her?”
Kane furrowed his brow. “I gave you the answer, you chose not to take it, right?”
“Is this the result?
She just found it funny. “Kane, the results you give always only cater to what you want, not what I want!”
