Sergio took her to the nearest hotel from the airport and helped her with the luggage. “Alpha Stafford asked me to tell you that he will pick up your brother at the airport tomorrow at 9 o’clock sharp. You will go through a special channel and can check in directly.”
After Sergio drove away, Aria checked into the hotel with her luggage.
She had already started looking forward to a new life!
Here, after Seraphina woke up, she saw Kane sitting in the chair next to her, with a slight smile on her lips. She won the bet!
“Kane…”
Kane saw her wake up, breathed a sigh of relief, and said, “You’re awake.”
“You shouldn’t have saved me,” Seraphina said with red eyes. “In your and Aria’s eyes, I am a sinner, so why bother saving me?”
“Why do you want to die for something you didn’t do?”
She choked, with a bitter smile. “You guys wouldn’t believe me. In your eyes, I’m no different from a criminal. Now everyone in the hospital is cursing me, saying I’m a homewrecker, blaming me for Aria’s parents‘ death. I was jealous of Aria before, but I never thought of harming anyone…”
Kane’s eyes were deep and unreadable. “No more next time, you still have Jasper.”
She choked up. “With a mother like me, what future does Jasper have?”
“Alright, you just rest up first,” Kane interrupted her self–pity, getting up to leave.
At that time, Seraphina cried and immediately grabbed him. “Kane, don’t go. I don’t want to be alone. I’ve been feeling so confused lately, and I get really scared whenever I think about the kidnapping!”
Kane stood still, letting her drag him along.
Although he has no memory of being kidnapped, he found out from his mother that he did experience it.
There is a vague figure in his memory, familiar yet unfamiliar.
Was that blurry figure in his mind really Seraphina?
