Lucian
"We are getting reports from several packs, who were attacked. They had recently isolated themselves from the communities. " Rick said, with a grim face.
Few packs were in the isolation for years. They had ceased all outside communications, including business exchanges, or the simple passing of information. Their Alphas didn't show up to council meetings and their lands were sealed against any wolf entering. We only came across them when they faced a severe rogue attack. Like the one, we had faced many months ago.
"How bad is it?" I asked, rubbing my temple.
"Not too bad, though they managed to get their hands on a few beta females."
I clenched my grip, breaking the pen which I had been toying with.
"The rogues have realized that they cannot take over bigger packs or Alpha females, easily. So, they are targeting smaller packs now. " Rick added.
"We need to start raiding immediately!" I said.
"Without finding out the identity of the leader?" Daniel asked.
"We don't have the time. My betas have tracked down the location which was pointed out by Olivia, the girl we rescued. Once we have the list of locations. Let's do a synchronized attack. We may or may not be able to catch the leader, but we will be able to cause a major dent in his army of abominations." I said.
"Begin pack wide training, I want everyone war-ready. This attack could come at any moment, and we need to be prepared. Let our human contacts know that something huge is on the horizon; they have to be prepared as well. We don't know if this will stop at our world or spread to theirs."
The Alphas nodded along with me.

"You did what?" Lucian stared at me incredulously. His hands-on propped on his hips. I had rushed to his office in the main packhouse as soon as I heard that he had returned from the council meeting.
"I couldn't leave her all by herself. She was suicidal, so I brought her home. It wasn't my first choice. Initially, I called Rain. Assuming, since she was turned from a human, she would be able to calm Olivia. It started well, then Rain started describing our pack runs, the mating ruts, and wild parties. Olivia panicked, I was scared she would do something if I left her by herself. So, I got her home. Are you angry ?"
To my surprise, he burst into laughter. His deep, throaty laugh resonated in the room.
"It's alright, and it is very sweet of you. You do care for that girl." He said, putting his hand around my waist.
With all my time dealing with Olivia and the pack, I felt a little behind on what was going on with the rogues. It felt like I was in the middle of a war zone. I had not attended any Alpha meetings. I rarely had time to ask about the bigger picture.
"So, how is your strategy planning going on?" I asked, a little breathless, as he had pinned me to a wall, and was slowly nibbling my neck.
He stopped nibbling and looked down at me.
"A little problematic," he said. "The team has determined the locations for raids, but we still don't know who is behind all this."
A polite knock at the door stopped us midway. He sighed and released my breast, which he had grabbed from over my tee.
"Come in." He called out, stepping away from me.
Rain entered, looking sheepish.
"Good day, my Alpha, and Luna," she said and bowing more than necessary...
I groaned. That behaviour usually meant she had bad news, which someone else wanted her to deliver. Lucian was much gentler with females than he was with his Betas.
"Let me guess, they lost the last two suspects ?" Lucian asked.
"Yes, my Alpha, they can't find either of them. Both have disappeared. Besides, they are having trouble finding the leader," she said.
"Exactly how many of my Betas requested you to convey this bad news ?" he asked with a smirk.
"Well, Damon my mate, Peter, and Kyle. All your nastiest Betas, my Alpha. They agreed it would be safer to send me, rather than face you, themselves. I must be terrifying, don't you think, sir?" she said, grinning.
Lucian growled with laughter. Rain was funny. Lucian would never give her the treatment, his betas would have gotten, had they faced him with that news.
"Cowards," he chuckled.
"Tell my Betas, I was fuming that they lost those suspects, and didn't dare to face me. Tell them how I lost control and became so enraged that Madam Luna had to step in to calm me. That's an order!"
Lucian was grinning. I couldn't stop grinning myself.
