Chapter 120
Hesitating for a moment, Jonas still signed the leave slip for her. Lenore walked out of the school gate, holding the leave slip, and saw a Porsche Cayenne parked by the roadside.
The man leaning against the car was wearing a black silk shirt and a long black coat that reached his calves, He was stunningly handsome, like a figure from a comic book. Upon closer inspection, he carried a more solemn air than usual.
It had been two days since she last saw him, and she hadn’t received any messages from him. Lenore raised her eyebrows slightly and walked over.
Silas glanced at the leave slip pinched between her delicate fingertips, a smile playing on his thin lips as he said, “Taking leave now, are you confident in winning?”
Lenore looked up at him, her eyes bright, as if they could see through one’s soul, full of meaning.
The autumn evening light was dim, with fish–scale–like red clouds covering half the sky, creating a dreamy scene, accompanied by a gentle breeze that shimmered like rippling water.
Silas took a couple of steps forward, a faint scent of sandalwood enveloping him, his eyes reflecting soft light, his voice deep and magnetic as he said. “As your guardian, it’s necessary for me to be the first to know about your situation”
After the parents‘ meeting, he had exchanged contact information with Jonas and was added to the parents group chat by him.
Yesterday, Jonas had privately messaged him about the bet with Lucille. He had been in Denisville, dealing with important matters, and only managed to return today.
Ten minutes ago. Jonas had told him that Lenore had asked for four days off. It was because he had promised to tutor Lenore that Jonas had signed so readily
Silas opened the car door and asked in a low voice, “Where are we going?”
Lenore stuffed the leave slip into her pocket, got into the car leisurely, found a comfortable spot, and sat down before speaking. “Back to Regal Villas first
Chuck was driving. Although nothing seemed different, and the car was still filled with the scent of sandalwood, Lenore could still detect the faint. almost imperceptible scent of blood.
Her eyes flickered slightly, but Lenore didn’t inquire further, lowering her eyebrows and replying to messages on her phone. With the privacy screen protector applied, all Silas could see from his angle was a black screen.
Leaning back, Silas asked. “Do you need help with the be?”
Lenore looked up at him…
Silas, with a straight face, said, Tm very good at biology.”
Suddenly, the car skidded, but Chuck managed to control the vehicle in time, preventing it from crashing into
o the greenery
Silas kicked the back of the driver’s seat and said, “If you can’t drive, replace others.”
Chuck thought he had experienced enough not to be surprised by anything his boss might do regarding Lenore. But he had underestimated his
boss’s bottom line
Leaning against her seat, Lenore looked at the man’s sharply defined, gorgeous profile, bent one leg, propped her cheek on her arm, and a smirk. played on her lips, both mischievous and cool.
She said. “Mr. Faulkner, helping me so sincerely, could it be that you really like me?”
The car skidded again. The neon lights outside were in orderly ranks, shattering in Silas’s eyes.
In the flickering light, fie turned his head, his thin lips slightly curled as he said, “What if I do!”
Before Lenore could respond, he sighed as if in regret, “Unfortunately, Mrs. Zamora said you’re still underage and can’t date yet.”
Lenore was speechless.
Silas continued, “But it’s okay. I’ll wait until you’re of age.”
