Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem novel Chapter 1012

"... It's the safest bet we've got."

Helen frowned, pausing before she reluctantly agreed, "Alright then, I'll torment her for another few months! Is the poison ready?"

"Prepared and waiting."

"Then get on with it today. I can't wait any longer!"

Clayton's coldness last night broke her heart. Now, all she wanted was to get rid of Pamela—fast.

Once Pamela was out of the picture, Clayton's attention would undoubtedly shift to her!

The young man nodded, "Sure thing. Clayton had someone whip up a stew for her. Perfect chance to slip in the poison."

"Then don't waste any more time!"

"Got it!"

As the young man turned to leave, Helen called out, "Larry, there'll be a nice reward for you once this is over."

Larry was the brilliant med student Clayton had supported from a young age!

Clayton treated him like a son, but here he was, a true snake in the grass!

Looking at Helen, Larry said, "It's an honor to serve you, Helen. Rest assured, everything will go smoothly."

Helen was pleased, "Off you go."

After Larry left, the maid praised, "Larry sure is obedient."

Helen snorted, "People like him are only good for their utility. Clayton helped him through school, lifted him from the gutter, and this is how he repays him. If he can betray Clayton, he can betray me. We keep him close with benefits, not trust."

The maid nodded, "You're absolutely right, ma'am."

As they continued their walk, Evan was a mix of anger and panic. These villains weren't satisfied with just torturing his grandma; now they were plotting to poison her!
