Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem novel Chapter 665

In the house, Keith was bent over with a wrench in hand, working on the plumbing alongside the maintenance crew. When Tarquin stormed in, Keith's glance flickered towards him, his expression unreadable, a mix of annoyance and apathy. Tarquin glared back fiercely, barely holding back the urge to start a fight. Tossing his car keys on the entryway table, he rolled up his sleeves and barged into the bathroom.

"Move over!"

He was there to get the plumbing fixed quickly, not wanting to worry Elysia. But he was also uneasy about leaving Keith alone in the house, suspecting him of possibly tampering with something in the bathroom while pretending to fix the pipes! Tarquin was brash, and a flash of anger crossed Keith's eyes. However, catching sight of Elysia standing behind Tarquin, Keith instantly masked his irritation with a forced smile, not wanting to cause a scene in front of her. He shrugged in a seemingly good-natured manner and left the room.

Elysia felt a bit awkward since Keith was there to help, and yet he was being yelled at. She murmured, "He's just in a bad mood today, don't take it personally."

Keith just smiled, "No worries."

Elysia wanted to say more, but the sharp look from Tarquin silenced her. She opted to watch quietly as Tarquin finished up with the plumbing. Tarquin had rushed over, not even bothering to grab his jacket, just wearing slacks and a dress shirt. The shirt tucked into his pants emphasized his lean figure, exuding an air of elegance. His hands, long and well-kept, hinted at his refined upbringing, not someone used to manual labor.

Despite his high-class demeanor, Tarquin was surprisingly adept at fixing the leak, a side of him that Elysia found increasingly attractive. While Elysia admired Tarquin, Keith watched her, his brows furrowing and a storm brewing in his eyes as he sensed her growing affection for Tarquin.

After about fifteen minutes, the pipe was fixed. Tarquin's shirt was damp in places, clinging to his body, hinting at a ruggedness beneath the refined surface. When Elysia handed him a towel, her cheeks flushed with color. Unfortunately, Tarquin was too wrapped up in his irritation with Keith to notice Elysia's flushed state.

The maintenance crew, having other jobs to attend to, left as soon as they were done. Keith also made his departure, his demeanor calm and unbothered, which only aggravated Tarquin further. Throwing the towel aside, Tarquin stormed out, with Elysia quickly grabbing him,

"Where are you going?"
