Elysia took her phone into the kitchen, putting it on speaker as she started prepping a meal for Blossom. "Are you home yet?"

"No," Tarquin replied. "The bodyguards mentioned you went over to see Blossom. Is she alright?"

Elysia sighed softly. "She got into a massive fight with Folly and Hollis over Axel. Oh, by the way, did you know the parents arrived?"

"I know. I just called them. They were having dinner."

Elysia leaned against the counter. "I won't be coming home tonight. I need to stay here and keep Blossom company. You just focus on your work. The parents will keep an eye on the kids."

"Alright. Let me know if you need any help with Blossom's situation."

Elysia let out a long breath. "The biggest help you could possibly offer right now is to get Axel back here as soon as possible. He needs to spend some proper time with Blossom so they can figure out if they actually have a future."

"If they do, then we can start working on Folly and Hollis."

"If they don't, it's better for Blossom to face reality and move on."

Tarquin frowned, remaining silent.

He had tried reaching out to Axel but hadn't received a single reply. His nerves were already frayed. The place Axel had gone to, and the mission he was on, were incredibly dangerous.

One wrong move, and he was a dead man.

After a brief pause, Tarquin finally spoke. "I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything."

"Okay."

They chatted for another minute before ending the call.

Elysia whipped up a comforting batch of hot soup and some grilled cheese sandwiches. Once it was ready, she managed to coax the exhausted family of three into eating a little something.

That night, Elysia stayed over. She and Blossom stayed up talking for hours, eventually curling up in bed to watch a movie before drifting off to sleep.
