Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem novel Chapter 722

In a world where single moms are hailed as superheroes, Elysia stood out not for her superpowers, but for her vulnerability. Being a single mom is tough; being one while navigating the murky waters of love and threats is something else entirely. Yet, here was Elysia, doing just that, even after her child Elliot had been directly harmed.

Elysia, known for her soft-spoken nature, was struggling. But as her friend Blossom said, "Elysia, it's okay to be scared, but life goes on. You've got to take care of yourself, honey. You don't want Elliot waking up to see you like this, breaking his heart all over again. Besides, you can't let him be in pain, physically and emotionally, right? Listen, take care of yourself first before anything else. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't break up with Tarquin, but no matter what, me, Elliot, Evan, Emmett, Elijah, we're all behind you."

Wiping her tears, Elysia managed a small, "Thanks, Blossom."

"Ah, cut it out with the thank yous. We're practically sisters."

Blossom then lowered her voice, "Between you and me, it was actually Tarquin who asked me to come check on you. He's beside himself with worry, Elysia. You should've seen him, looking all worn out and anxious. You've been skipping meals, and so has he. He really cares, you know, loves you."

Elysia remained silent.

Pulling out a late-night snack Tarquin had prepared earlier, Blossom urged, "Come on, eat something. Do it for him, and for me, and the kids."

Elysia, having poured her heart out and cried her eyes dry, felt somewhat better. Yet, she couldn't bring herself to eat, "I'll eat later, I'm just not hungry right now. You better head back and get some rest. Don't worry about me; I'm feeling a lot better."
