I am the ruler of all novel (Kingsley) novel Chapter 345

Chapter 345
Victoria’s long legs were crossed and propped up on the armrest of the couch, dangling ever so slightly. She was the picture of indulgence, and her fair looks made her even more alluring combined with her insouciance. Anyone who stumbled upon this sight would think she was just another beautiful young woman who was on the phone with her best friend.
The atmosphere would have been a heartwarming one had there not been the startling sight of four muscular men guarding the office door. They looked out of place, seemingly intimidating in their black suits and their arms behind their backs, standing straight like they were cadets waiting to greet their superiors.
The scars on their faces gave them a vicious air, making them look like guardians who would not hesitate to take down intruders.
They had their gaze fixed on a spot on the wall, but regardless of how stunning Victoria looked at the moment, none of these four men dared to steal a glance at her. On the contrary, they looked terrified of her, if not, outwardly respectful.
As far as they were concerned, Victoria was no ordinary woman. She was their boss; the commander of their gang and the one who would deal the harshest punishments should they act out of line.
“Hey, Court, have you been staying up late cramming for tests?” Victoria asked lazily as she twirled a lock of her hair around her finger. “Did anyone pick on you at school? Should I send a few of my men over to watch your back?”
At once, Courtney’s voice cried out from the other line, “Victoria, you have to stop treating me like a child! In case you haven’t noticed, I’m already a college student!”
Upon hearing this, Victoria smiled and pointed out, “You’re my baby sister. You could be graduating college for all I care, but you’ll always be a kid to me. It’s my duty to protect you.”
Courtney explained wearily, “My friends are all terrified of you, and they tell me just as much during our reunions. Look, it wasn’t easy for me to switch to another city just to go to college here, so please do not mess this up for me by sending your goonies over.”
A smile curled on Victoria’s lips when she heard Courtney’s plead, and she found herself reminiscing the good old days when Courtney was a kid in grade school and she went to the junior high next to it.
Back then, she had already made a name for herself as the most intimidating girl in junior high. She would often wait by the grade school entrance with her goonies behind her while threatening the other pipsqueaks not to pick on Courtney.
Things got even worse by the time Courtney started junior high.
Victoria had taken it upon herself to have the biggest bully in Courtney’s school roughed up even though he hadn’t done anything to deserve it. He was close to being beaten into a pulp as she warned him icily, “If my sister gets picked on by the other kids, it’ll be your fault for not looking out for her, and I’ll make sure you pay dearly for it.”
Since then, Courtney could not go anywhere around school without having a few goonies tailing her, protecting her, and making sure no one was giving her a hard time. If they slipped up, then their poor leader would have to take a beating for their carelessness.
When Courtney was in her senior year in high school, she had a homeroom teacher who played favorites. He had given her position as the study hall monitor to the disciplinary teacher’s son, which left Courtney sulking for a while.
Once Victoria had learned of the details, she went over to the homeroom teacher’s house with two dozen of her men to teach him a lesson.
The next day, the homeroom teacher, missing three of his front teeth, ended up getting down on his knees in front of Courtney and begged her not to have gang members attack him or his family home after this.
All in all, Victoria had always been the femme fatale whose name struck fear into the hearts of her peers, be it in school or in society. As for Courtney, she grew up sheltered.
At the thought of this, Victoria chuckled and said, “The older girls aside, the only other sisters I have are you, Yulia, and Jessica. Yulia’s a supermodel with a figure to die for, and she dresses up so well that most men would fight to protect her; Jessica, on the other hand, has a temperament odd enough to ward off most people, so she has neither friends nor enemies who could potentially pick on her. You’re the only one who looks like a kid and acts like one, and heaven knows what’s going on in that oddball brain of yours. If you don’t need my protection, then who does?”
Without thinking, Courtney blurted out, “What about Kingsley?! Why don’t you go coddle him instead?”
The words had only just left her mouth when she realized she had said something wrong.
At once, both women fell into a long silence. Little did they know, Kingsley had already made a glorious comeback as a man of great success.
