Paul remained noncommittal, feeling that Eva simply didn't love him.
So, Paul, it's time to wake up and let go of someone who doesn't love you.
With this in mind, Paul unwrapped a piece of candy and put it in his mouth. It should have been sweet, but he tasted a bitter undertone.
After finishing the candy, he decided to let go of Eva and their complicated and painful past.
Once he swallowed the candy, he pushed aside any thoughts he shouldn't have and lifted his head, smiling at James.
"Brother, I promise you, from now on, I'll work hard like you and stop messing around."
He seemed to have grown up all of a sudden, and his words were much more composed than before.
James stared at this new version of Paul for a while before continuing the conversation.
"If you really want to work hard, then come learn management with me."
James thought he would have to persuade Paul, but to his surprise, Paul didn't resist at all and simply nodded.
"Once I can move, give me more work to do."
James knew that Paul was using work to numb himself, so he wouldn't feel the pain anymore, just like James used to...
Thinking of how Paul was always there for him, caring for him when he was falling apart, James reached out and placed his hand on Paul's shoulder.
"You will get what you want, don't rush it."
