Upon hearing this, Jayden's heart skipped a beat.
After dealing with Paul's matter, James brought the conversation back around, clearly intending to hold him accountable for this issue.
Jayden turned around to face James and couldn't help but shiver when his gaze met those sharp eyes.
"I don't know the full extent of your affairs, so I won't comment. Mr. Evans knows what's in his own heart."
"Is that so?"
The smile on James' lips carried a chilling and intimidating aura.
"I heard that Eva took Jayden to the capital to meet Ryan a while ago?"
Jayden didn't understand the meaning behind James' question and didn't dare to speak out of turn, so he simply nodded.
"Eva has always treated Ryan like a younger brother. Bringing you to meet him shows that she wants his approval. After seeing you, he must have thought you were decent enough to entrust Eva to you. But you, on the other hand, have been gossiping about him and my wife behind his back. Shouldn't Jayden apologize to Mr. Song?"
"I haven't been gossiping about him and Amelia. I was just mocking you..."
In an attempt to distance himself, Jayden spoke without thinking, giving James a handle on him.
"So, you're saying that if you mock me, you don't need to apologize?"
It turns out that this whole discussion was just a way for James to force him to apologize, using Ryan as a pretext.
