Eva was supposed to work late at night but felt inexplicably
uneasy.
The first person Eva thought of was Amelia, so she quickly called Amelia. She called her several times, but no one answered.
She was a little anxious. After asking for leave, she immediately rushed to Amelia’s tiny apartment and made a phone call.
The phone was connected as soon as she opened the small apartment door.
Eva immediately breathed a sigh of relief and asked anxiously, “Amelia, what are you doing? Why don’t you answer the phone? I’m so worried!”
Instead of Amelia’s voice, a woman’s voice came from the other end of the line. “Is this Amelia’s sister?”
Hearing a stranger answer the phone, Eva’s heart skipped a beat.
“Yes, this is. And who is that?”
“This is Stella. I saw you at your apartment last time.”
“Stella?”
Eva frowned, looking nervous and puzzled.
“Why did you answer the phone with Amelia’s phone? Did something happen to her?”
“Nothing happened. Don’t be too nervous.”
Stella thought of the last time Amelia gave her a wink, so she didn’t dare tell Eva the truth.
But Eva noticed that something was wrong. “Stella, don’t lie to me. Every time Amelia had a heart attack, I felt very nervous. I can feel that something is wrong with her. Tell me quickly, where is she now?”
Stella had to tell Eva the truth because she couldn’t hide it anymore. She didn’t say anything about Amelia’s heart failure. She only said that Amelia was in a coma.
Hearing that Amelia was in a coma, Eva almost collapsed.
Leaning against the door frame, Eva said tremblingly, “Stella… Stella, please tell me the address of the hospital…”
Stella told Eva the address and calmed her down. “Ms. Miller, don’t worry. She’s in my hospital. I’ll keep an eye on her all the time. Prepare some clothes for her to change into. She needs to
be hospitalized for some time.”
Stella’s calm voice brought some strength to Eva.
Eva steadied herself and thanked her. Then she hung up the phone and staggered into Amelia’s bedroom.
Eva packed a few clothes in a panic, took Amelia’s toiletries, and dro ve to the hospital.
Stella was doing a detailed examination of Amelia. When she saw Eva rushing in breathlessly, she quickly put down the stethoscope and looked at Eva.
“Ms. Miller, don’t be in such a hurry. It’s easy for you to choke.”
Eva didn’t have time to care about anything else. She put down her things and hurried to Amelia.
Eva’s face suddenly changed when she saw Amelia lying on the hospital bed with gauze wrapped around her forehead.
Eva rushed over, raised her trembling hand, and touched the wound on Amelia’s forehead. Her eyes were full of distress and confusion.
“Stella, isn’t Amelia in a coma from the heart attack? Why is there a wound on her forehead?”
Eva looked at Stella in confusion. Stella felt so guilty that she
didn’t dare to look straight at her.
“Ms. Garcia offended Mr. Evans’s cousin to help me today, so she
retaliated in the mall…”
Stella told Eva what had happened without hiding anything.
After hearing this, Eva was stunned, and her eyes were full of disbelief.
She really didn’t expect that to protect his sister and fiancée, James would beat Amelia.
Amelia had been with him for five years. Even if he only treated
her as a tool, he wouldn’t be so cru el to her, would he?
“Ms. Miller, why she became like this has much to do with me. I’m really sorry.”
Stella bowed to Eva solemnly and apologized, which made Eva speechless.
Eva stared at the wound on Amelia’s forehead. After thinking for a while, she slowly looked at Stella, who looked apologetic.
“It’s not your fault. The Evans family is too arrog ant. They actually beat Amelia like this…”
Eva clenched her fists bit by bit, his nails deeply embedded in his palms, and his beautiful eyes gradually filled with resentment
“Stella, do you know where his cousin lives?”
She couldn’t defeat James but was good at arguing with women.
Emily was just an accomplice, so she could endure her for now.
However, James’s cousin was the mastermind. She would never let her go!
