I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 186

Chapter 186 Birthday Gift

The elevator reached the parking lot. Curtis still followed the two. Harper turned to Curtis until they reached the car. "Mr. Yost, go ahead and respond to Benjamin!"

Curtis nodded instead of moving. The next second, the door of the other car next to him opened. Benjamin got out of the car.

He looked over at Harper, his expression heated and direct, but his voice didn't ripple with what had just happened, remaining lukewarm. "Get in the car and I'll drive you back. Let Curtis drive back in your car."

Harper frowned, "Don't bother. I can drive myself."

"Harper, do you think I'm going to let you drive yourself out of here if you refuse my request?"

"Benjamin!" said Harper, a little angry. She stared coldly at Benjamin and said unhappily, "How many times do I have to tell you? Do you think I'm really afraid of trouble? I just don't want you to drive me back. Now do you understand what I mean?"

Benjamin laughed, not caring at all about her words, instead showing an unabashed and unbridled evil grin. "So you're not an emotionless robot."

He seemed to be in a good mood and didn't care about Harper's silence or coldness. He walked up to her and grabbed the car keys right out of her hand in front of Annie and Curtis and tossed them to Curtis before saying, "Now will you let me drive you back?"

Harper was really upset, but she told herself over and over not to get upset for the baby's sake.

Seeing this, Annie calmly said, "Harper, since Mr. Martin wants to drive you back, you should let him. Mr. Martin is free anyway. Besides, you are still husband and wife. Isn't it proper for a husband to send his wife? Just so happens, I can enjoy Mr. Martin's car skills."

Harper frowned and glanced at Annie before Annie tugged her arm toward the car.

Annie opened the backseat door and got in first. Then she took Harper's hand and said, "Get in!"

She had just finished speaking when a force suddenly pulled Harper away, and then the car door was closed with it.

Benjamin said in a low, husky voice, "Why don't you sit in the front with me?"

"Weren't you going to drive us back?" Harper was a little displeased.

Benjamin smiled, "You're right, that's why you're going to sit in the front with me. I'm not the driver but your husband. That's what Annie said."
