Chapter 328 Underestimate
"Am I going too far?" Harper gave a cold, bitter laugh. "Benjamin, you've used all your resources to promote Lauren, never once mentioning it to me. I find it hard to believe that, with the resources of the Martin Group, there couldn't be another promising singer besides her. Is she really the only option?"
For Harper, true lack of contact meant no calls, texts, or work-related involvements whatsoever.
But now that Lauren was signed under the Martin Group, could this still be considered no contact?
Benjamin's face darkened as he spoke softly, "It's not what you think. Lauren signing with the Martin Group is a normal business collaboration. As for why she was chosen, I can't tell you the full story right now. All I can say is, the only person in my heart right now is you, hmm?"
He said he only had her in his heart?
That used to be enough to make Harper happy.
But not anymore.
She wouldn't now.
She wouldn't let herself be swayed by sweet words.
His tenderness might be shared with many, but his sincerity had always been reserved for Lauren. So she reminded herself repeatedly, "Harper, stay clear-headed. Even if he has you in his heart now, it's only because of the child."
Harper gave a faint smile. "Benjamin, I understand what you mean. Since you're unwilling to tell me, I won't ask anymore. Whoever is in your heart has nothing to do with me."
With that, she pushed past Benjamin to create distance between them.
But he didn't move, reaching out to grasp her arm, his voice low. "Harper, what do you mean whoever is in my heart has nothing to do with you?"
"It means exactly what you understand."
"So, you wouldn't mind if there were other women in my heart?"
He asked coldly.
