"Why not?" Benjamin furrowed his brow.
Curtis explained, "They might be concerned that recent events could affect the competition."
He scoffed. "Just because my finger is injured, does that mean I'll stop eating, drinking, and doing everything else?"
Curtis lowered his head, not daring to speak.
He was just a messenger, risking getting fired by voicing the other's concerns.
After a brief silence, Benjamin finished scanning through all the work arrangements in front of him. Then he looked up at Curtis and said, "Clear my schedule for lunch. I have a meeting with Larry. Also, the cooperation between the Norman Group and the Martin Group doesn't need to be renewed. If they ask for the reason, ask them go ask Mrs. Sharon Norman and Julia themselves."
After giving these indifferent orders, Benjamin lowered his head again and continued to look through other documents.
Curtis, however, had some doubts, wondering, "What exactly had happened with the Norman Group to prompt this action?
"Is it because Julia had offended Mrs. Martin?"
That was all he could think of. Then he quickly nodded and followed Benjamin's instructions.
After receiving the news, personnel from the Norman Group immediately contacted Larry. However, Larry was clueless and had no idea what was going on.
Larry immediately called Benjamin. "What's going on with the Norman Group?"
"Didn't I tell them to go ask Julia and Mrs. Sharon Norman? Why? You're not married to Julia yet, and you're already handling the Norman family's affairs?"
Benjamin's tone was mocking, carrying a hint of indifference that grated on Larry's ears.
Larry asked, "Did I offend you?"
"Enough nonsense. What do you want? Are you acting as an advocate for the Norman family?"
"Of course not. I just want to know what's going on so I can have a reason to refuse, don't I?"
Benjamin sneered, his eyes filled with coldness. "What's going on is that someone did something they shouldn't have done and said something they shouldn't have said. They need to face the music now."
His words hinted at something, and Larry couldn't miss the implication.
Larry's expression changed slightly, and his voice turned dull. "Because of my relationship with Annie?"
"I can't tell you about that, but it's somewhat related. This time, it's all because of Harper. She came to the Martin Manor and brought it to my mother's attention. If the Martin family likes Harper so much that I can't even compare, do you think they'll be successful in causing trouble?"
Benjamin seemed completely indifferent, showing no sign of displeasure at Harper being more favored by the Martin family than him.
After hearing this, Larry's tone was indifferent. "Since it involves the Martin family, I, as a friend, shouldn't interfere. So, I don't know anything."
